Thank You Sergio Ramos , For a wonderful season.
Many may be confused by the title.
Sergio Ramos? The guy who lost us the semi-finals of the Champions League?.
The guy whose mistake in the first leg could perhaps be the defining moment of the tie? the guy whose hideous penalty just sent us out of the champions league?
Well, what can I say, the one and only.
Many of us wanted him to play at centre back this season, we all felt that it would be his better position but our expectations were realistic, we knew he had problems, his faults aerially and in positioning have been well documented.
But what we didn't know is what this move meant. We didn't know that this move would make him our on field leader , our defensive organizer and our inspiration.Who else? Xabi for his class , Iker for his calm and Ronadlo for his work ethic simply will never have the passion and the fire that he does. I don't know if he loves Madrid, or more precisely how much he loves our club, he never claimed to support us a child, never claimed that this was his dream , but here he is. He fights and he tussles and he pounds his heart into the ground for the shirt he wears, red or white, and he does it with as compelling and imposing a presence as I've ever seen.
He leaves it all out there on the pitch and he will live and die by what he does on it.
So when people say "he isn't good enough in the air" , "his positioning isn't good enough" among other qualifiers which will continue to be thrown his way, just remember that he is not just a centre back.Ramos inspires those around him, he makes them the best they can be, he isn't affraid to speak up and be heard. He isn't afraid to tell Xabi where to go, he isn't afraid to tell Marcelo to fall back, he isn't affraid to tell Ronaldo to defend, but more importantly , he is the type of person that actually find a way to ensure they do it.
You judge Ramos in whatever way you see fit, I understand whatever reactions you have , reverence or disgust, but you will never be able to question that he gave it his all. You will never question his commitment, his dedication and most importantly his passion for the team, for his teammates. You cannot question his leadership which has taken us to a La liga title and almost , almost to a Champions League final.
I'd like to thank him for his efforts, for his bravery, for his desire to win and for his attempts to put our defense on his back this season. I wish him all the success possible with La seleccion and hope that next year, while some of his technical issues be resolved, he returns to Madrid with the same passion, fire and tenacity that he has always had, if not more of it.
Thank you for making my season, for epitomizing what Real Madrid is all about and for being a true Madrista.

I want him to take penalties when they matter, because if he is the one brave enough to step up then why the hell not. If he as a centre back can make his voice louder than any of our forwads and demand that moment, then that in itself gives me every confidence that he's destined to be the one to take (or miss) it.I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.

He has been a great player. Shocking how he missed that penalty though. He even stumbled and still missed.

Ramos is a beast, Epep is not a good partner though , or rather they both share the same weakness and share the same strengths.

you people are ridiculus, pepe has been sensational this season, stopped everything, he is our best defender by far. ramos still looks raw, he gets cought behind by likes of gomez and experienced strikers. Although his recovery speed is sentsational but still.

there is no shame being caught in behind by gomez, he is the striker with the best movements in football, he is absolutely un matched in that regard. who else caught him? Falcao?

Pepe doesnt get cought, thats my point, he is expereinced, if it wasnt for him, ramos would have been having a terrible season. thats all i am implying.
I saw ramos getting cought behind few times this season, there was soldado who really did a number on him, some savillia striker, may be falcao, i dont remember who but the point is he hasnt really developed that natural Cb sense when someone is making a shadowy run behind u.

Pepe should step up for the offsides.
Anyway his weakest point is his positioning and that was expected.

Boohoo, Falcao, Soldado, Gomez, 3 of the best poachers in football caught a CB. my gawd, need to sell him ASAP.
first off, if an AM is infront of a CB and the CF is making the run, you can only cross your fingers nothing too bad happen. What you should be worried about is how easy it is for them to get past alonso and khedira.

Re: Thank You Sergio Ramos , For a wonderful season.
i already said that that alonso and khedira are slow asses. they might steal few balls but most of the time, they just get ignored like its nothing.
As for ramos, i havent even said he is bad or he didnt have a good season, i was mentioning that pepe had a great season as well, even better then ramos, he was our best defender by a margin and people want him gone.

Yeah the weakness is more about the lack of fluidity between Xabi and Khedira. they are so slow that they make me cringe.
We should find a solution for our weak midfield in summer, they get overrun by a decent midfield, it's not even funny.

Ramos one of our best this season.
Terrible pk but nonetheless we got what we wanted.
Him at CB.
Pepe can be a huge liability for us. Varane has SO much talent I hope we can see more of it this coming season.

Fine sell him, you guys dont deserve him. let see how greatly the next cb does.

What's the problem with the defense? Our CB's are good but we still concede too many chances.
Should our defensive line be higher?

As you stated he has saved our asses. But in the same sense he has cost us as well.
He tends to lose his head in critical situations, he has also picked up that uncanny way to make the most out of a foul and play acting beyond belief. Like I said. He "can" be a huge liability for us at times.
You could easily say he was at fault for the penalty we conceded against Bayern.

Re: Thank You Sergio Ramos , For a wonderful season.
1- One is that our midfeilders are too slow, oposition attacks just get past them regularly in most of the matches especially against good teams, even thought we have 2 of the best CB stoppers in the world, it still isnt enough, we need better, agile and better midfeilders.
2- Our backline isnt compact and doesnt keep its shape, we have ramos and pepe who both get out of their position to tackle, and they should cuz the midfeild are too slow to tackle, which leaves gaps.
3- Our fullbacks are not the best, one is slow fullback who is very good defensively but slow and cant cover whole area while is zero threat on wings and attack, other is best attacking fullback, overlaps at every frekin chance he gets, which leaves huge gaps, which ramos fills by going left, but that leaves gaps elsewhere. Our fullbacks must get perfect balance between defence and attack, otherwise it will it will distroy the shape of the tactics.
4- Our fullbacks are not protected by the wingers, its either 1 wing is very much protected and the other wing is empty. This leaves all kind of spaces in the midfeild which defenders has to step up to fill causing endless circle which leads to opposition attacks.
5- The most important thing about defence is the shape of the tactic, we must always keep the shape intact. We need more dicipline, like we played against barca, but more constantly, out midfeild and defensive shape must stay intact all the time, regularly, not sometimes.
This are just the basic stuff that need to be done to get better defence.

That physcopathic eposides has decreased alot. i feel super safe with him when defending, he is our best ass saviour lol.
That penelty, i felt it was harsh decision, i dont remember the play though, but if gomez got to the ball, it would have been tapin, he tried to stop gomez, actually if i remember correctly gomez came from ramos (cought behind) mistake.
I cant beleave i already forgot all the stuff hapened in yesterday match, must be cuz i was in denial for like till now and didnt want to remember/beleave how didnt we qualify to final.

Ramos might be a leader but Pepe is still better than him. The good part is that both usually step up on the big games. But they are too much agressive.

Re: Thank You Sergio Ramos , For a wonderful season.
Ha how many times has a stupid Pepe tackle cost us big? Ramos makes errors but they are not aggression related errors like Pepe.. The penalty on Gomez was plain stupid, he just ran right into him for no reason whatsoever..
It was his 2 yellow cards that screwed us up against Roma in the 2007-2008 return league at home, it was his stupid aggressiveness that got him red carded last year against Barca (even though he didn't touch Alves, if he didn't come down with his studs like that there would of been no chance of getting any sort of card)
He is too unstable and we need to move on from this hoofing thug
