So what do you guys think about the Mayan prediction that the world will end in this day ?
For the record i believe there's not strong proofs to prove it and i don't think it will happen but assuming in a hypothetical way if the world were to end on this day how it would happen, judgement day or a astronomical accident with earth ? feel free to share you ideas.

if the world is going to end it's in 2013 when solar flares hit the earth, but as for 2012 its all BS

the mayan calendar is cyclical, not linear. so december 21 2012 is just the end of the largest cycle and the beginning of a new one. so not even the mayans believe that the world will end then.

anyway Mayans didnt have leap years and once you add them into the equation the world should have ended a looooooooooooong time ago

This. If the Mayans were still around they would be looking at those people panicking with the sense of wonder we'd all reserve for someone who totally believes the world is ending on the 31st of December because that's where the last large image of a cute kitten is ripped off the wall.
The Mayans believe that's when their calendar ends, not the world.

for the sake of analogy, it would be like someone saying that the world was going to end on january 1st 2013 because there were no more pages in their wall calendar after december 31st 2012.
