Palermo ‘keeper Emiliano Viviano has spoken as a true Fiorentina supporter. “I could never play for Juventus.”

In an interview with Calcio 2000, the Italian international was asked about his love for his hometown club.

“There has been a lot of talk that I could join Fiorentina, but it never happened,” Viviano, part-owned by Inter, stated.

“It’s a dream of mine to play for them and if there was the possibility to join the Viola then I wouldn’t hold back.

“Juventus? They are a great club, but I wouldn’t be well received by their fans. It would be really difficult for such a move to happen.”

Viviano damaged knee ligaments in pre-season while at Inter which saw him sidelined for six months.

After making a complete recovery, he joined Palermo in January in an effort to prove his fitness ahead of Euro 2012.

“Palermo is an excellent opportunity for me,” stated the man who will have to keep out Juventus this weekend. “They are a great club.”
