Good to see bias does not cloud your judgementkiranr wrote:He was not exactly pushed, nor did he drop. He just lost balance because of the shirt pulling which happens all the time in corner kicks. So, yeah, the call was out of the ordinary.

there was a tussle and a bunch of pushing: puyol, nesta, and busquets all kinda collided

Yeah, i did not feel too good about the penalty. Wish these ambiguities disappear, but saying we are being favoured is a bit unfair IMO.

Re: Barcelona-Ac Milan;Champions league's quarter final second leg.
messi should've been yellow carder for kicking the ball after the whistle
puyol should've been yellow carder for holding nesta
all under the same logic! so this was clearly a penalty in favor of barcelona

Re: Barcelona-Ac Milan;Champions league's quarter final second leg.
IT IS A PENALTY
The thing is, it's become so commonplace and hard to stop at this point through just refereeing that most refs have decided it's really not worth calling unless totally obvious.
A shirt pull here, a shirt pull there, you see it all the time, it's commonplace.
But that's because it's not obvious lmao. If someone has an absolute handful of a shirt and brings him down, that's OBVIOUS.
See, there are little trips and little stamps that go on in football that never get called, why? Cause the ref either doesn't see them or play just keeps going. Are they fouls? By the book, hell yes they're fouls. Are they going to be called? No. The ref calls the ones that are obvious trips and obvious fouls.
That's the case here. Sure that rule is often times ignored, but that's because it's not FLAGRANT enough to call it.
If it's flagrant enough, the ref will call it. If it's like Nesta was to Busquets today, it will be called.
That's not UEFA, that's not FIFA, that's Nesta being an idiot for making his shirt pulling to flagrant. Not to mention the grab and pull to the ground haha.
Hopefully this clarifies it!

Obvious penalties were obvious.
I dont know why people are saying its FIFA/uefa's fault....your not allowed to shirt pull, its been said, everyone knows it. Blame the refs who dont call it because they are afraid to do so.

Re: Barcelona-Ac Milan;Champions league's quarter final second leg.
too soft to be awarded a pk IMO, if i made the rules it would be an indirect freekick from the spot of the pulled shirt in the box
at least its somewhere inbetween a pk and no call
middleground ftw

it was a foul by puyol on nesta before that shirt pulling should even be considered.

Kinda completely destroys the game through players being able to stop full attacks through shirt pulling knowing all they'll get is a yellow (maybe) and the other team gets an IFK rather than FK in a dangerous area (big big difference obviously)

As someone said, Ibra's shirt was pulled all day long, his arms were tugged on, all sorts of stuff like that.
What differentiates that stuff from this stuff so we can see see consistency?

Re: Barcelona-Ac Milan;Champions league's quarter final second leg.
I think what people are forgetting is that the same thing happened in the first game when Puyol was pulled to the ground and missed a wide open header because of it and Barca complained about it. IT's been a massive pattern in the CL when a team sends video in to UEFA they try to correct there mistakes.
Look at last years CL. Teams complained about Barca getting too many calls and the refs were scarred to send off anyone on MAdrid so they had free rein to foul the crap out of Barca. IT was obvious what was happening and I don't care how biased people on here are some of those Madrid players deserved to get sent off two and three times over but the refs would not give any of them a second yellow.
I mean I don't know what all the fuss is about? You guys say it's a rule but then there cheating? Milan had plenty of corners did you see Barca grabbing there jerseys, and they actually have people who can convert from corners.
It's pretty obvious why he called it too, you see Nesta having a fist full of jersey before the play even starts and Busquets puts his hand up motioning to the ref as it's obviously something that was discussed between the games and right then and there Nesta should have let go, he didn't and helped bring him to the ground. The Minute he went to ground the ref had to make the call.
It was a bonehead play by Nesta plain and simple especially when the same thing happened the game before. I mean jesus, you can't grab a fist full of shirt before the play even starts and then ride the guy into the ground. It's a penalty.
Instead of all this conspiracy mumbo jumbo why don't you blame your players for scoring once in 180 minutes and not being able to score at home?
I tried telling you people last week when you were acting like you won by drawing that not scoring at home would kill you, and it did. IF you expect to beat a team like BArca or Madrid or Bayern or Milan for that matter in this tournament you have to take advantage of your home game, not scoring at home is a killer.

Uhhh...?
Refer to my post about flagrancy and see how the game currently works in regards to shirt pulling in the box.
Rules are fine as they are. It's the ignorant watchers that don't get it that have problems.

Did I mention that Ibra was being pulled in 180 minutes of football and all he got was a free-kick in the middle of the field when a Wild Monkey lvl 99 of retardedness jumped on his back and didnt let him go ... mind that wasnt even a yellow ...

Does anybody have a vid of second pen with the ref in view? Because i'd like to see if the ref saw the shirt pulling before the corner was taken..

it's a bonehead play by nesta that he didnt clutch to his face after being shoved by puyol imo.... pushing someone puyol style is much more of a foul then nesta's shirt pulling...

i find it fascinating that people blame the referee for the elimination of a team that had one shot on target

Re: Barcelona-Ac Milan;Champions league's quarter final second leg.
If you dont want to concede a penalty then dont go and break the rules by pulling the opponents shirt INSIDE THE PENALTY AREA FFS
And even then what the hell was Nesta doing pulling BUSQUETS shirt? Since when is busquets a great scoring goals with his head? If I recall correctly the only goal that he scored with his head was an own goal(correct me if i'm wrong)
