Scudetto Race
OUSH! After Milans hardfought draw last night to Catania the gap between 1st and 2nd is only 5 points but tonight that gap could be closed to just 2 points.
BUT Juve's game tonight is vs Napoli at the Juventus Arena (GOAT stadia) which will be very very tough as we all know napoli on their day can be devastating, they beat Milan 3-0 at the beginning of the season .
Now what im getting at is this is possibly one of the most exciting title races in Europe and Probably one of the best in recent years in Serie A. After tonights game there will only be 8 rounds left which would add up to a total of 24 points.
Milan are currently on 64 points and Juve 59. (Milan are a game ahead)
The Remaining teams left for both Juve are as follows, (H-Home, A-Away):
Milan: Fiorentina H, Chievo A, Genoa H, Bologna H, Siena A, Atalanta H, Inter A, Novara H.
Juve: Palermo A, Lazio H, Cesena A, Roma H, Novarra A, Lecce H, Cagliari A, Atalanta H.
Chievo, Bologna and Inter are the main threats for Milan, as Lazio and Roma are the threats for the turin side.
Which side do you think will win the sprint to the finish? Any stumbles on the way?? I think if we win tonight ill back juve for the title.
just a quick question too, in Serie A, if both 1st and 2nd are level on points who does the title go to? I know its not goal difference i think, is it head to head games? if so Juve have a tiny advantage as Milan have not beat Juventus once all season out of 4 games.
Wanna know what other football fans think, not just serie A and Juve/milan fans.

Re: Scudetto Race
Napoli won 3-1 to Milan at the start of the season
Juve would win the scudetto if we were level on points after match day 38
But the only way that would happen is if Milan 1 more game & Juve continued to win, which seems very unlikely but it's good to have hope

Re: Scudetto Race
Cassius our current strikeforce havent been as consistent as they should be when you are challenging for the title which is why i think Milan hold the edge as their forwards have been consistently performing week in week out.
As i have said many times i would be content with just finishing in CL spot.Hopefully we buy a world class CF for the coming summer and we can challenge for major honors next season.
It really has been an incredible season and to still be unbeaten with this team plus a final in the coppa is really a great achievement.

It's close because we are rigged with injuries and fighting on 2 fronts while still being in the 1st place ... once we get kicked out of CL our full force will go into Seria A ...

Re: Scudetto Race
If Napoli denies Juve the Scudetto and the Coppa... massive rage for Juve fans.
In reality, our only hard game left is Inter. Even though their form is crap, they always play their best in the derby. With many of our players coming back from injury I think we should be able to handle Chievo and Bologna fairly easily (hopefully), unless we get some really bad luck or Di Vaio goes beast-mode against us.
A very exciting title race though. Serie A

That and juventus have been amazing this year. It's as much up for grabs for Juve as it is for Milan.
No excuses.
Forzarossaneri, I know! If Napoli *bleep* up both our chances for silverware this year I'll be pissed!

Re: Scudetto Race
I wouldn't underestimate Siena at home Forza, and we might potentially face some of those teams at a time when they're desperate for a few more points, though the relegation zone is looking quite stable at the moment. One win for Lecce though and those clubs will start looking very, very nervous.
Just as Milan have done, Juventus have hit form at an important juncture and the senior leaders of the squad who haven't tasted silverware in years will realise the magnitude of this moment.
If Juve beat Napoli today, they might enrage the team and sacrifice their chance of winning the Coppa Italia. Better take it easy and settle for a draw fellas.

Re: Scudetto Race
Atalanta have tailed off to an extent, though without their 6 point penalty they'd still be above Inter. I never know what to expect from them recently, though now that they've started to give Gabbiadini some time I'm expecting a mini-resurgence. Honestly not trying to think too far ahead though, let's deal with the Barcelona match and go from there. I don't expect to progress, but if we do then it changes all of my priorities. I'd give Juventus the scudetto if I thought we had a crack at the Champions League. In that sense it's actually not too bad that we've been given Barcelona early.

Re: Scudetto Race
Teams like Chievo annoy me a lot. They park 10 Fiats in the way of your Ferrari and leave a lone-striker up front.
We do have a shot at CL Dost! We will win! 100% guaranteed.
BELIEVE and we will :vagi: them!

Chievo are the Stoke of Serie A.
Anyways for us apart from Napoli ,Lazio is the toughest fixture imo.
And also we dont have a great record against Palermo in recent times and it is another tricky fixture.

I know the Palermo fixture is in Sicily, however I honestly don't see Juventus having any problems against them. I just hope Roma can find a way to get something out of their match against you, though Cagliari away is honestly likely to be a more dangerous fixture.

Re: Scudetto Race
Palermo with all due respect are not the team they were a season or two ago.
I expected a tough match against them last time we played but alas Juve won convincingly 3-0 so I hope they don't cause much trouble this round either.
I agree with Dost, Cagliari away will be tough.

Re: Scudetto Race
lol, i knew they were worst in serie a, but in the whole of europe! that's so awful. Palermo have really lost it and you could tell it was coming...
crazy president + coaching instability + bad transfer policy = fail
---
the thing with juve this year is that you think they are going to lose against team x and then they grind out a draw. problem is that sometimes they grind out a draw from a win.

Re: Scudetto Race
If Juve lose this race, it'll be because of that ridiculous run of draws in games where they should've won.
They've begun to win more games now, but I ultimately think it's too little too late for them. Milan have won those same games more often than not and as they say in Italy: The scudetto is won in the provinces.
That will ring true more for Milan than it will for Juve.
