Oh well, I am continually impressed by this USMNT, even when they had little to no chemistry they still found a way to dig in when it mattered and get the win. Amazing stuff going into the World Cup  

We did learn a few things from this match:
1. Mix isn't a CAM, which is fine I prefer him as a B2B midfielder as the real cover for Bradley. He is not cover for Jones/Cameron/Beckerman.
2. Zusi has to play centrally or on the right, what does this mean for Donovan? He will be fighting for a spot with Dempsey and the Johnsons.
3. Why aren't we giving Iceman a run in the SS/CAM role while Dempsey's form is MIA? Obviously 4/2/3/1 is our best formation and his link up play is to good to be wasted as the second forward in a 4/4/2.
4. We do poorly when we have wingbacks who can't get forward to any great effect. Instead we get caught out of position leading to stupid turnovers and leaving the back line high and dry. So, while we have Beasley and Johnson at LB, we still need an answer at RB to push Evans. No idea why Yedlin isn't at least getting a look given his pace and hustle. I would just require that he chill with the ridiculous haircuts

TBH, I'm glad US second team went with everything they had. One factor that I've always loved about US is the "always play for the win" attitude.

The friendly against Ukraine on Wednesday has been cancelled.

Confirmed the friendly will go ahead. Thankfully, we need the game badly.

Recapping what I said elsewhere....what an awful performance.

Yes, it's a friendly and yes the prep was terrible, but these players had very little fire in their bellies. No hunger and no drive. No one grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck. They all just rather floated through it. Ukraine, for obvious reasons, were far more motivated.

Only players who can hold their heads somewhat high for me are Johansson and Shea. That's about it.

I think of the actual borderline players Bedoya and Shea where the only players who potentially punched their tickets to Brazil.

The game was great honestly in that it served its purpose in making clear who should and shouldn't be on the team.

The next big thing for Jurgen is benching Dempsey and making Bradley or Howard Captain. Should be interesting, but at this point Dempsey should be happy he is even a lock for Brazil.

Stu Holden out for ANOTHER six to nine months after requiring yet another surgery on his right knee ligaments.

On a good note he did get engaged today, so his life isn't all bad
