Apparently the injury bug is running through the USMNT right now, did you see what happened to Sacha's ear? Don't open if you are squeamish...

Re: USA USA USA!!!
So, Costa Rica tomorrow and Mexico on Tuesday.
Altidore may be fit, but is unlikely to start.
The squad includes:
GOALKEEPERS (3): Brad Guzan (Aston Villa), Tim Howard (Everton), Nick Rimando (Real Salt Lake)
DEFENDERS (: DaMarcus Beasley (Puebla), Matt Besler (Sporting Kansas City) John Brooks (Hertha Berlin), Geoff Cameron (Stoke City), Edgar Castillo (Club Tijuana), Brad Evans (Seattle Sounders FC), Omar Gonzalez (LA Galaxy), Michael Orozco (Puebla)
MIDFIELDERS (7): Kyle Beckerman (Real Salt Lake), Alejandro Bedoya (Nantes), Michael Bradley (Roma), Mix Diskerud (Rosenborg), Fabian Johnson (Hoffenheim), Jermaine Jones (Schalke), Graham Zusi (Sporting Kansas City)
FORWARDS (5): Jozy Altidore (Sunderland), Clint Dempsey (Seattle Sounders FC), Landon Donovan (LA Galaxy), Aron Johannsson (AZ Alkmaar), Eddie Johnson (Seattle Sounders FC)
From that squad, there are certain players that slot in automatically:
Johnson
???-----Dempsey-Zusi
Bradley---Jones
???----Gonzalez--Besler---???
Howard
The obvious question are:
1) Does Donovan walks into the Qualifier first-XI?
2) Is there a place for Beasley after captaining at the Gold Cup (personally think it's at LB)?
3) Will Geoff Cameron get a look-in at RB?
4) Has Guzan shown enough in league play to challenge Howard as the starting GK?

I would look for the subs to be Johannsson (if we are leading Altidore if we are behind), Bedoya (on a tear right now and two way player), and potentially Beasley for Johnson when he moves up to take over for Donovan or Zusi.
In regards to your questions:
1. I don't see how Donovan doesn't walk into the squad, but I don't understand why they are forcing him on the left when Zusi is the better option on the left if they are both going to play at the same time.
2. Beasley will get his starts, but Johnson will always play the night games, just works for him for some reason. Beasley will get on the pitch when we invariably move Johnson up to take over the left wing midfield position late in the game. Beasley will probably start against Mexico.
3. Cameron will play both games at RB, barring Jermaine going crazy and being banned for the Mexico game.
4. I think Guzan passed Howard a long time ago. It wasn't a popular opinion when I said it a year ago, and it's probably still not a popular opinion, but the truth hurts.

Re: USA USA USA!!!
Should of just waited to post, lineup for tonight:
USA: Howard; Orozco, González, Besler; Beasley; Bradley, Jones; Zusi, Donovan, F. Johnson; Dempsey.
Orozco at RB is the obvious surprise, but otherwise close to what I figured might happen with no Altidore allowing Donovan and Dempsey to essentially be the forwards. Works considering our goals are most likely to come off a fast break anyways away from home. Not a bad lineup.
USA bench: Altidore, Beckerman, Bedoya, Brooks, Cameron, Castillo, Diskerud, Guzan, Jóhannsson, E. Johnson, Parkhurst, Rimando.
No idea why we have 2 keepers on the bench.

Re: USA USA USA!!!
Well, if there were any doubts about who our best player is, we looked like shit without Bradley.
No idea how things are going to look against Mexico without our best player, best Defender, and best Forward.
Only thing we have going for us is that Mexico's coach will be fired sometime this morning, and they'll be an unsettled team as well. Going to be interesting. Could be a 3-3 draw or something crazy like that.
This is the lineup we have to run against Mexico now:
-----------------EJ-----------------
-----Donovan---Dempsey---Zusi-----
----------Jones----Bedoya----------
Johnson--Brooks--Gonzalez--Parkhurst
-------------Guzan------------------
I'm hoping the subs go: Johannsson for EJ, Beasley for whoever is tired out of Donovan/Dempsey/Zusi and slot Johnson in Midfield, and Mix for Jones.
If I'm being honest, I would sit Dempsey after tonight for Johannsson, but I don't think with the lack of Altidore up top Jurgen would take the chance.

Re: USA USA USA!!!
Basically, I had heard in interviews all week from US players, that they knew the first 15 minutes of the game would be crucial and that they would have to match the Tico's intensity.
Instead, Bradley went down right before team introductions and our nightmare finally happened. The team was lost without his calming influence and just got blown away in those first 25 minutes of the game. We couldn't defend, we weren't pressuring, and we couldn't complete simple passes.
The US finally settled and pretty much ran the show from the 40th minute on, but the goalie saved a possible goal from Johnson and then we got a late penalty before the end of the first to make it a game.
We had plenty of looks, but to be fair our shots/headers into the box were just poor and with no real pace. Dempsey was particularly bad tonight.
Altidore came on and immediately started to boss the game, but the Tico's scored on a break away off a deflected shot on a ball that was cleared with no intentions but happened to land just in front of the Tico's attack who then took it to the house on Howard. Even worse, Howard didn't come out and instead waited for the attacker wasting a chance to pressure the attacker while Besler was still hassling him.
Overall a crap performance, which turned into a potential draw, which then just turned into some unfortunate luck.
Tuesday will be interesting, as I predicted the coach for Mexico was fired, but he has been replaced with a better coach. However, Mexico will be unsettled and so will we without our best Player, Forward, and Defender.
Should be entertaining to say the least.

Re: USA USA USA!!!
Thanks, Moto.
Kinda scary then. But at least US don't have to deal with Vela and Ochoa yet so that's good news. Before the Costa Rica game I was expecting 4-6 points out of these 2 games but now it's looking rather dicey if we'll even pull out 3 pts. Only thing helping the US now is the home field advantage. Now I'm predicting a draw.

Re: USA USA USA!!!
I always predicted 4 points as the best result out of these 2 games, and Costa Rica was always the diciest of the two encounters considering our horrendous record playing away there.
Here is what happened to Bradley, and he's officially ruled out for Tuesday. Don't look if you get queasy looking at these things:
We have officially brought in Joe Corona, Jose Torres, Brad Davis, and Clarence Goodson. None of these actually address the missing Bradley, but if we play the no forward formation again Corona would obviously be useful. Goodson would also likely slot in for Besler.

Well that was a comprehensive victory. There are things I would've liked to see done differently, but in the end Mexico was taken out of the game from the very beginning and we're going to Brazil and they're hoping to go to New Zealand

I'll be so ecstatic if Mexico don't even make the playoff with New Zealand.
Imagine Panama beats Mexico next matchday. The paradise that would be And then we play our third string in the last match against Panama and let them take 4th

I am not butthurt about this game because we are fcking terrible, but you actually said we were out of the game from the beginning when we were better in the first half.
Would rather not qualify maybe then we'll learn our lesson and some changes will be made.

Don't know. Maybe Boy or Vucetich. I guess i would prefer Boy but it is to late to make any real improvements. The whole process has been a complete failure. Heads will roll in October even if we do qualify.
Congrats to US for qualifying.
