Re: Milan vs Barca
Milan has been extremely unlucky this year lol.Hope they can pull it off but i doubt it,Barca are clear favorites.
Re: Milan vs Barca
Barca will win this handily. I would say 6 7 years ago milan had a team on par with current barca but this team is a shell of that.Barca was in poor form and without inesta and still beat milan quite comfortably in san siro.If I were them I'd be more worried about having to face madrid in a one-off tie.

Yes, Barca will steam roll Milan. Will win by 4 gol at San Siro and by 6 at Camp Nou.

Barca outplaying a team based in the city of Milan in the group stages only to get knocked out in the knockout phase

What? Barca outplayed Milan. Barcelona was gifted a penalty and Van Bommel scored an own goal and still it was only 2-3 in the second game. Barcelona was very lucky not to have lost the second game.
Come on, whatever you say,Barcelona did outplay AC Milan. The Italians were lucky to get that draw in the last second, and that 3-2, penalty or no penalty, own goal or no own goal, doesn't even represent their superiority in the game, they ought to have win it by 4 or 5.
Either way, I would love to see AC Milan champions, I really would, but I just don't believe it :/
TIL that having more possession and needing a soft penalty and a nonsense free kick for a good result = COMPLETE superiority. Woah, the education one gets on Goallegacy forums is truly of the highest quality.
Seriously though, we're clear underdogs.

We played better at the San Siro than we did at the Camp Nou lol, we dominated at the San Siro, regardless of how the goals were scored.

No we didn't. In the 2nd leg, we never looked that dangerous and didn't have too many clear cut chances. Inter's zonal defense was working great against the tiki taka and we couldn't find enough gaps. Having an extra man also didn't help, contrary to popular belief.
It made our players think they can have more time and more touches on the ball. The pace of the passing was slowed down as a result and we couldn't play our game properly.
Sorry, but Milan's defense is not that effective, not even close.
We shall see though...everything is still up for grabs.

the oversimplification coming from milan fans adds to my point. anyone who watched the match knows it was more than that... but sure.

Ganso. That's freakin hilarious.
Milan will have it tough against Barca. Barca are the better squad indeed but will find their hands full as they usually do when they meet up against a competent Defense.

Same with Bayern Munich vs Inter (Marseille.) Ranieri saw it coming and made sure they dodged the bullet, denying ze Germans revenge.
Ganso, are you sure Robinho will be available?

Re: Milan vs Barca
I thought it was a bit unfair, for both teams, since this fixture goes way beyond the end result, lots of memories have been brought up, and both teams might have been a bit more open in their approach if played in later stages.
The final four would have been a better choice , better than the FINAL its self, we would have seen two of the most beautiful games ever, the SEMI that people would have remembered for so long. The round of 8 is early for both teams to think about entertaining the fans, and the final would have been to risky, in the FINAL 4 at least Milan would have said, mission accomplished, anything more now is extra.
But oh well..., instead we are due to two very physical demanding matches from both teams, I think where Milan has the edge is the tactics only, everything else says Barcelona, therefore I expect to see a very solid defensive performance from AC Milan, against a very "safe attacking" Barca, since Milan know as long as Barca didn't score first we are safe for now.
Barca know they can't afford to play 100% of their football against Milan, they won't be able to push all the way up high against Milan, any combination from Ibra, Pato, Binho, SES, even Maxi, can hurt Barca in their different ways. Dani not so free in attack, Adriano a bit under comfort zone defensively. Strengths are many.......
Now it comes up to ALL Milan players to show their worth, who is worth keeping, or renewing, all players have a lot to prove, Ibra to finally be the MAIN MAN and win the CL, MvB wants that CL more than anything, Binho and Aquillani its about time to show if they are one of the "never lived up to their potentials" or how much of WC player they are. Pato wants to prove his worth regardless if he stays or not, Nesta a third CL title with Milan what better time to retire, Silva to be finally recognized as the best CB in the world, Seedorf to get his fifth yes his fifth. Boateng and Noccerino to prove their worth against the best opponent out their and when it really matters. Bonaera and Antonini to...... shit what do those two have to do here.
Anyway all I hope from this fixture, is whoever qualifies leaves the field happy and satisfied by it, (I won't count much on this since Juve always felt satisfied and happy even when doping and match fixing)
Sorry Juve fans I couldn't resist
Our boys to make us Milanisti proud and hopefully qualify.
