Meh, I find Kubrick overrated anyways. Only find 2 of his films great.
Nolan is not even top 3 in his generation imo, though he's amazing. Interstellar is the only one of his movies I find not at least really really good.
Would really love to see him work with a great writer of dialogue. Most of the things Nolan writes himself is too cheesy for my taste, considering the overall seriousness of his films.
But like I hate Nolan Memento is in my top 5 of all time.
Also just watched The Dictator yesterday, by far Sacha's worst film.
This scene though

LMAOOOOOOOOOO
Didn't like Dictator either. He tried to be a different version of Borat which failed. Borat was Sacha's peak. He won't surpass that.

The problem wasn't that he was trying to be Borat though. The problem was that he has become to famous worldwide to pull off the same kind of mockumentary social commentary humor as he built his career on.
He should stick to drama for now, as he's got legit talent in that realm.

Re: Favourite movie scenes and quotes
Although I could link every scene or dialogue from the Once Upon a Time in the West, as it's the only perfect movie ever made, this scene, in a scene always amazed me:

Another Leone Morricone (Beatles), how to convey generational leap in a scene.

Re: Favourite movie scenes and quotes
Once Upon a Time in America is literally amongst my Top 4 of all time.
And yes I did watch the full 4+hr version.
Such a haunting film to my very core twinned with the highly underrated performance of De Niro who personified the aura and cadence of the film perfectly, that I have only watched it once and remain to do so for now such a powerful note it struck to me.
Ennio Morricone's score was beautiful throughout.
Insane how overlooked this was in North America due to the European cut, editing down to a mere two hours.

Re: Favourite movie scenes and quotes
The short version is so much worse that I can't even express. It also makes me think Kill Bill should've been one movie. If it resulted two good movies, how good could've it been being cut as one, thinning couple scenes? Or maybe it's just me talking, who grew in a generation of The Ten Commandments, Ben Hur and David Lean epics, when movies were just are long as they wanted. There's also rumor of 4 hour version of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, so that would be interesting.
