My only problem with him is that he is sloppy when he hasn't played a game in a while, but other than that he has been the best CB.

Yeah, gets rusty a bit fast..I noticed that too.

But this season, the least error prone of all our defenders..including fullbacks.

And of course, his tackling is great and his floor game has improved dramatically.

Agreed. Dealt with Ibra magnificently even despite Ibra's aerial threat and Maschete's lack thereof. His consistency is also amazing.

Well for the sake of argument let's assume that the first year's transfers (Dani, Pique, Keita, Hleb, Caceres, Henrique) are Txiki's and not Pep's. Let's assume every transfer hereon was either Pep's idea or required Pep's approval.

Mascherano wasn't at the time the best transfer but it was developing into a central defender that made him our best transfer in Pep's reign.
