Re: Cesc Fabregas - The Lost Lamb
Should/will he start next week vs Atletico?
Despite his good performance I think no, Xavi is back and Iniesta was fantastic vs Valencia too.
He would made a great impact sub though.

Let him start I say… he seems to be in fine form, let him improve even more.
Xavi could do with a little more rest and be utilized in upcoming games

Re: Cesc Fabregas - The Lost Lamb
I assume everyone more or less wants the same 11 as the weekend? Does Pep ever do that? And more importantly, would he do that despite there being no game in between?

I think Guardiola will play with this lineup Vs Atletico:
Valdes
Alves Puyol Pique Abidal
Xavi Busquets Cesc
Alexis Messi Iniesta

Cex had a great game against valencia, I never objected to his transfer here and I think he adds something new to the side. As posters above have said, I think he should rotate with Xavi

Re: Cesc Fabregas - The Lost Lamb
Lets hold those horses a bit. Rotate with Xavi?
Thiago has still done a better job in terms of being a connector in midfield, one game doesnt erase what he has done. Lets see if Cesc continues like this.
First of all, Xavi doesnt need rotating. He needs rest every now and again.
And second, when he does, I still prefer Thiago.

Cex :vagi:
Fantastic game from him. Would love to see
Xavi Busquets Cesc
Alexis Messi Iniesta
Although, same lineup as Valencias with Alves and Mascherano would be ideal.

I agree, and you are definitely right. I think Thiagoat and Cex can rotate with Xavi and Iniesta(in fact, Thiagoat has shown he can play DM on occasion-but I prefer JDS to be Busi's back-up).
Thiagoat, to me can act play both the Xavi role and the Iniesta role with a certain competence and when required he has filled in well(I believe he will definitely tend towards the Xavi role in the future)
Cex does not replace Xavi at all, but he brings something else which certainly adds variety to our team(something which I think is still needed despite the fact that one formula has been so effective for us in recent years).
So I think regularly playing Cex can allow this alternate formula to also be integrated into our style

Re: Cesc Fabregas - The Lost Lamb
I just want Xavi playing in the CL, not Cesc, so if one is going to play over the other (Pep seems to favor Cesc over Thiago in my view) I'd rather Cesc play the league and Xavi the more important competition. The Franchise wrote:Lets hold those horses a bit. Rotate with Xavi?

Re: Cesc Fabregas - The Lost Lamb
I think since Thiago said he is surprised how many minutes he has played this season and was pleasantly surprised by it, Pep has played him less lol
I dont think thats intentional, but I do notice this.
But yeah, I understand what yall saying. I think Cesc makes one heck of an impact sub, his change of style to the midfied could shock teams. Whereas Thiago to me seems a better like or like replacement with Xavi and Iniesta because of the similarities in mentality and style.

Re: Cesc Fabregas - The Lost Lamb
A few points.
Pep seems to have his own way of integrating new blood in the team and Tiago has already gotten many more minutes than last year and he will get even more by season’s end.
I expect him to get even more time next year.
I don’t expect Xavi to be regularly rotated by anyone. It’s just that he just came back from an injury and I’d like him to be as ready as it gets in our CL games. That coupled with Cesc’s recent great game make me feel that cesc would start. I sincerely believe that consecutive good games can make him the player we all want to see.
As for the line up I wouldn’t mind a Cex Buschi Thiago midfield, with Iniesta playing up front

Re: Cesc Fabregas - The Lost Lamb
As much as Cesc played with Xavi and the rest in NT, and him coming from Barca youth, he was finished product in Arsenal. So, he needs time to get back to his roots, and also bring that extra thing he has developed in Arsenal. Thiago has been here all the time, and with his talent it is not wonder that he could emulate Xavi and Iniesta's game to some extent better than Cesc.
I think Cesc could better fit as Iniesta's replacement then Xavi's, as both Cesc and Iniesta are more attacking minded.
I think by the end of the season, we will see the true Cesc, and with Xavi getting older I expect both Cesc and Thiago starting more games and rotating even with "fragile" Iniesta.

Re: Cesc Fabregas - The Lost Lamb
~ Cesc:
"Arshavin asking about Barça? Yes, he already was a Barça fan before joining Arsenal. He always told me that."
"EPL coach could wait for referee at parking like Mourinho? I never saw it before. In England everybody tries to respect the referee."
"It's true I take less shots at Barça, sometimes because I'm afraid of the reaction of the crowd. I'll get more confident."
"I talk with Van Persie, but not about Barça. He's a player for Arsenal, he knows what's best for him, I wish him all the luck."
"Referees decisive in the Liga? Won't talk about the subject, it'd be misunderstood. Others have to make decisions, we can only play."
"Friendship with Pique and Puyol? We're quite different. Puyi and I are more alike, Pique is more relaxed, happy, enjoying life." [md]

Re: Cesc Fabregas - The Lost Lamb
Great quotes there Khaled. Cesc is a developing player and is improving immensely every game he has played. I don't know why people are criticising him as its only his first season with the A team and still needs to learn more skills. I reckon we should start Thiago as he hasn't played for a long time and Xavi in the middle as well. Bring on Inestia or/and Cesc in the second half

Being a first year player doesnt mean you can escape critics...Sanchez, Ibra and I could go on and on prove this.

Re: Cesc Fabregas - The Lost Lamb
Don't like Cex as a nickname. Anyways, hope he plays but I also want to see Xaviesta on midfield.
Re: Cesc Fabregas - The Lost Lamb
Very good game as CM. Pep put him as a midfielder and he played complete game, 2 assists. Our best player tonight after Messi. Iniesta was very good, considering the fact that he played as a winger. Cex should play more in midfield, enough with putting him as false 9.
