Any of you played ranked Arena matches, yet? I watched some videos for it on Youtube. Looks pretty cool.

What do you consider to be your weakness(es)? Poor accuracy/aim speed? Lack of awareness? Don't know which gun to use?

All of the above? Aha, I'm not awful. I usually can go about even in games. But my kills/deaths seem to usually be on the low side (like 6/6, 8/5, stuff like that). I play pretty cautiously because I hate just running all over the place and dying, but at the same time I'm not a camper.

Re: Call of Duty> You Thread.
Learning all the maps is a big plus in cod. Your awareness will increase just from that.
To improve your accuracy/aiming you can start with an AR with a RDS on it. Try to increase your sensitivity aswell since it's really good when you got it at the highest especially in a fast paced game like cod.
I usually put the sensitivity 1-2 up every 1-2 game till it's at the highest. Your reaction will improve for this.
Example play domination and learn cause you'll know where the enemies will be all the time.
Guns, perks etc. is also an important factor but I can't comment on this since I don't have BO3.
I don't really know what more to tell lol if there's something specific you need improving with (aiming, reaction timing, awareness etc.) then post it and i'll try to help.

Gun Skill is less important in new cod's it is hard to really hone your skills in current cod's with everything else that goes on in the game.
i mastered mine in COD 4 when it was just frags and guns and 3 kill streaks

Yea COD4 was the real skill-based game along with WAW. Actually required you to improve yourself with the guns and not rely on killstreaks to get you kills ever since.

I'm the type who runs all over the place and dies a lot I get positive stats the majority of the time, though. I'll never claim that I'm great at CoD, but I beat most players in terms of reaction time, so my playing style basically revolves around running through specific routes on the map and beating whoever I run into along the way. I've never cared about K/D, so I'm prone to dying a lot... especially against corner campers.
Based on your playing style, I would probably try to find spots on the map where your team mates are covering the area behind you, and you only need to concentrate on what's ahead of you. Try to position yourself behind objects that cover part of your body, making you harder to hit. I recommend using assault rifles like, ARK7, ICR-1 or Man-O-War. The LMGs in the game are also great, if that's your thing. All of the guns mentioned above are highly accurate and deal a ton of damage, especially when equipped with the Rapid Fire attachment. Quickdraw, grip and silencer are must have's.
I don't really recommend using high sensitivities, if you're not that confident in your accuracy to begin with. You might be more comfortable using a higher sensitivity setting than you already have, though. It doesn't hurt to try Personally, I find that playing Zombies or campaign mode helps my fingers get accustomed to the game faster. CoD is all about muscle memory, and I think offline modes are good ways to train exactly that. Also, the Zombie mode in Black Ops 3 is a lot of fun in my opinion

Happy belated birthday, Tom!
I haven't played much Black Ops 3 lately. I've mostly been playing Star Wars at a colleague's place. I have finally prestiged on Black Ops 3, though. And I think I've played the game enough to get a good impression of what's good and what's not.
I'll start off with what I don't like. The time to kill is faster than what I personally prefer, and it's been pretty fast in the last few CoDs. It peaked in Ghosts with super high damage from all ranges, and although it's been adjusted since then, the general opinion seems to be that it's still faster than what's considered to be ideal. The "consequence" of this is that it benefits players that aren't very accurate with their aim, and it effectively prevents players that react and aim fast from surviving situations where they get jumped by players that aren't quite as fast or as accurate. I actually appreciated this when I first started playing the game, because my aim was all over the place, but I still managed to kill people since it only required a few shots on target. Aim assist has been completely removed (on all weapons, I think) for multiplayer modes, which is a positive development, in my opinion.
I haven't really run into an exceptional amount of campers in the game, but the fast time to kill combined with the "pick 10 system" makes for an annoying experience against corner campers, as I've chosen to remove all grenades in favor of other things on all of my weapon classes. Unlike, in many other CoDs I very rarely manage to survive the wrath of corner campers in this game.
Most of the maps are typical, Treyarch-design maps and I personally like very few of the ones that weren't in the beta. Most of the maps just have too many random obstacles placed around them, and I'm quite indifferent about the majority of them. The addition of small water pools that you can swim in is pretty neat, but there's nothing more frustrating than jumping into a water camper's trap, and it's slightly easier to spot enemies from below the water surface than it is to spot them from above it - making it a viable playing style for some people
Hovering/double jumping/sliding. Extremely few people seem to actually use this to their advantage in gun fights, but those who do use it are gods of this game. Understandably, the pro players seem to have mastered how to use these abilities efficiently in combat, already. I sincerely hope that regular players don't ever start doing the same, because for me, that alone is enough to make me reconsider wanting to play the game online. Luckily, most people can't, or don't afford themselves Scuf controllers which allow for seemless hovering while performing other actions. I wasn't a big fan of double jumping to begin with, and I'm still patiently waiting for the first CoD developer that decides to drop the future, sci-fi setting.
This is debatable, but I would've preferred if they didn't include the specialist feature, or if they at least had made it completely performance- based. It's an interesting idea, and I didn't really mind it at first, but I've been on the receiving end of too many newbies' cluster bomb launchers, nano swarms and flamethrowers, ruining my killstreaks in exchange for allowing them to get more than 3 kills in the entire match. What's next? No recoil guns with shotgun spreads?
The campaign is.. not great. I personally really appreciate some of the new features they've added to it, like being able to customize your own guns and abilities, the training simulator and being able to unlock camos and whatnot through playing the campaign. The actual story, though.. it tries so hard to be deep and epic, but it's difficult to take it seriously. The ability system adds some depth to the campaign, and I think it's great that you can hack just about any machine, robot or aircraft, but the campaign story is sub-par by Call of Duty standards and the voice acting is mostly tame and disappointing. But then again, I suppose they don't need to hire Troy Baker every year, when no one cares if they just train a few parrots instead. 4-player co-op campaign is possible in Black Ops 3.
I think I've mentioned most of the things I don't like about Black Ops 3, and it turned out to be quite a lot. I don't want to give the wrong impression, though. I've been positively impressed by the game's overall standard. Granted, my expectations weren't very high to begin with. There's tons of content in the game, and I've mostly had a blast playing it online. I'm disappointed that they removed the XP bonus for Search and Destroy, but I've still had fun playing other game modes.
I've never been a huge fan of zombies, but I'm genuinely interested in playing it this time around. I've actually put some time into playing it together with randoms, and I'm impressed by how much work has been put into it. Thumbs up for the Jazz music playing in the background, and the amount of complexity that has been added to this game mode since it was first introduced in World at War.
There's tons of options for visual customization of weapons and specialist characters in Black Ops 3, and the supply drops provide even more unique options. I don't know whether or not it's going to change, but as of right now, supply drops are not purchasable through the PS store. There are definitely more things I'd like to add here, but I need to get some sleep. To summarize Black Ops 3, it doesn't try too hard to improve on past games in the franchise, but it's packed with content and it's the first Call of Duty game since Modern Warfare 3 that I haven't grown tired of after only a week.

Great read Thimmy. Specialist & the sci-fi future x2 jump, gliding etc. was a turn off for me.
Will probably pick it after semester or later when it becomes cheap.

Cheers thimmy brah
Yeah there's an endgame type easter egg in Zombies that's *bleep* solid. We keep getting pretty far in to it but with a 4 man lobby each having 2 OP stacked pack a punched weapons and perks it's still absolutely solid.

Re: Call of Duty> You Thread.
Not sure if anybody here knows it exists, but the next step to the main easter egg on zombies involves getting a powerful sword, and the step after involves upgrading it.
Getting it is relatively piss easy but upgrading it, not so much. But even the normal sword is absolutely amazing.
Rocket shield craftable item is essential, stops you getting back hits until it breaks and you can keep replacing it. Can also dash attack through zombies with it 3 times per shield.
The wonder weapon is absolute banter, best wonder weapon ever in Zombies. Sucks them all through a portal so it's infinitely more useful than a powerful laser gun or whatever because they fly away and all die.

Cerberus on small maps is pure banter lmfao
What I like especially when CoD was just out was even more experienced players looked at it, thinking yeah it's a small tank no problemo but in reality 5 men spraying it with bullets cant do shit by the time you blitz them
Talons are GOAT on any map, gimme that over a wraith any day.

Completely insane editing. I think the video is too sped up to be able to properly keep track of what's going on, though. Pamaj is one of the very best Call of Duty snipers today, but you can't tell whether he's quickscoping enemies in quick succession or if he's just waiting them out with hardscopes, since the editing skips the part where the weapon is zoomed in. Summed up, the video is entertaining in it's use of 3D models, lighting effects and top notch editing in general makes it look super fast paced and fancy as fk, but the actual gameplay content just consists of some guy moving around the game while the killfeed is being fast forwarded.
