Re: Milan Agree deal for Maxi Lopez
We need a striker upfront if Ibrahimovic is absent. Tevez as dosto said would only hinder el shaarawy's progress. Maxi is only a sub.

Re: Milan Agree deal for Maxi Lopez
I'm definitely concerned about how it will hinder El Shaarawy's progress, however even if we didn't have him it would be an incredibly short sighted move. With him it just becomes insane.
Pato, Cassano - who actually survived his operation I would like to remind everybody - Robinho and El Shaarawy can all partner Ibrahimovic, however for some reason we're interested in bringing in a world class striker.
Meanwhile we only brought in Merkel because of all of our midfield injuries and brought in Djamel Mesbah for our defence.
Nothing like having the right priorities. :lucas:

Re: Milan Agree deal for Maxi Lopez
It is a sensible transfer, only Milanisti would understand why we needed another CF.
I don't get the ridicule though, is it wrong to buy squad players for cheap or must we do it like the "big boys" and go for that 50m flops?

Re: Milan Agree deal for Maxi Lopez
BTW Maxi Lopez isn't as bad as ppl think he is.
His goal scoring record is way above avg, and is comfortable with the ball at his feet. He would rather sit at Milan's bench than Catania's.
Ibra last season got burnt out mid Feb, and competition this season is much higher in the league with Juve's performances, Inter's incredible come back, and Udinese's consistency if you are aiming to win the title you can't allow points slippage due to depth. Prime example is Napoli.

Re: Milan Agree deal for Maxi Lopez
We have Cassano out (season) and Pato out (3-4 wks)...
Maxi Lopez = cheap fill-in
Inzaghi cannot be relied upon to perform for an entire match, Ibrahimovic is going to need a rest for a game sometime before we play Arsenal, Robinho's finishing is not his strength and El Shaarawy, whilst showing great skill recently, is still an inexperienced youngster. I should add that our most attacking midfielders, Aquilani (ankle) and Boateng (too much sex) are also out.
We DO NOT have depth up forward considering the current circumstances. As a thread in the Milan section emphasised, the upcoming month and a half is crucial for us, both domestically and in Europe. I'm not saying that any reinforcement is a good one, but let's face it...
... it's not a Galliani transfer miracle, but it had to be done.

Re: Milan Agree deal for Maxi Lopez
I thought Cassano was recovering well?
Am i just imagining things or did i read somewhere he was already doing physical training?
Anyway, decent backup as long as he expects to be benched when the others are fit

Re: Milan Agree deal for Maxi Lopez
Cassano is back in training, however he isn't expected to be available for selection for some months yet. Nothing can be definitely said concerning whether he will be back in time for the Euros, however given his level of motivation and Prandelli's willingness to wait until the last second for Cassano, I expect him to make it, though Milan are unlikely to benefit from his services except for a few, unlikely, final matches.
Effectively we're planning to be without Cassano until the start of next season.
Edit: I was beaten to it, but only by a Ninja.

He is training with the team, but he is not going to be ready to play again until then.

But , but, but , i thought this new barcelona reject would be a regular in our starting lineup!
As for Cassano , well , he won't be back untill next season , or at the very end of this one.
Edit : Beaten by everyone lol

Re: Milan Agree deal for Maxi Lopez
Why everybody mad? We needed a forward for reserve. Tevez=too expensive for 3rd place attacker. So just filling the place for now. Imo, Galliani ok with changing Taiwo and getting Maxi, but...where is midfielders :lucas:

wow, Galliani is in Manchester trying to close the Tevez deal. It seems like PSG has given up on buying him and Leonardo just confirmed it.

Hardly.
Khaldoon is pi$$ed.
http://www.thenational.ae/featured-content/channel-page/sport/middle-teaser/khaldoon-al-mubarak-defiant-over-wantaway-carlos-tevez
ABU DHABI // Khaldoon Al Mubarak, the chairman of Manchester City, has warned Carlos Tevez and AC Milan that the club will not contemplate sanctioning the sale of the restless Argentine striker unless the Italian club meet their valuation and adopt a more professional approach to transfer negotiations.
Al Mubarak confirmed the Premier League leaders are aware Adriano Galliani, the AC Milan vice president, has held talks with Tevez and Kia Joorabchian, his adviser, over a proposed move to the San Siro, despite the Italian club failing to meet City's valuation of the 27 year old, believed to be upwards of €30 million (Dh143m).
"As things stand AC Milan isn't an option for Carlos Tevez," Al Mubarak told The National.
"Mr Galliani and his advisers have developed a misplaced sense of confidence from their premature discussions with Carlos and his advisers. If they want to be a consideration in this transfer window they would do better to stop congratulating one another and begin to look at how they would meet our terms."
City, owned by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, have already rejected a proposal from Milan to take Tevez on a half-season loan with a transfer dependent on performance targets. They will not approve a loan without a guaranteed end-of-season sale.
Al Mubarak confirmed talks with Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan have also taken place. Armed with a considerable budget from the Qatar Investment Authority, PSG held constructive talks with Manchester City and were prepared to match Tevez's wages but announced yesterday they had pulled out of the running after Tevez was quoted in Argentina as saying, "I see myself only in the red and black shirt, I am hoping for Milan."
"Paris St German and Inter Milan approached discussions with us in good faith and it is always a positive experience to deal with people with such a professional approach," Al Mubarak said.
Should the club's valuation of the player not be met, Al Mubarak said City have no intention of softening their hard-line stance.
Tevez, who is contracted to City until the summer of 2014, has been absent without leave since the second week of November.
"Carlos remains a player with contractual obligations to Manchester City for the next two and a half seasons," Al Mubarak said. "Unless we receive an offer that we deem appropriate, the terms of his contract will be enforced."

Re: Milan Agree deal for Maxi Lopez
at Gallian, you either agree on the terms and f*ckin sign him or just pull off, we all know City's last concern is money, so they won't mind paying his wages for doing nothing better than them feeling they have been bullied out.
Stop with this BS I bet you have paid close to 1M in tickets and accommodation at traveling back and forth. :lol!:

Re: Milan Agree deal for Maxi Lopez
Why don't Milan fans want to sell Pato ? He's injuried every other month. Wasn't PSG trying to buy him for like 40mil ? Sell him buy tevez for the 10mil and use the other 30mil to buy some midfielders and a good Lb. F**k maxi lopez.

Truth is Tevez and his moron adviser Joorabchian are such idiots we've already saved ourselves £9.3 Million in fines this season.
Sep 2011 - £6m forfeit of loyalty bonuses due to repeated public transfer requests.
Oct 2011 - £400,000 fine for misconduct in relation to refusal to carry out manager’s instructions against Bayern Munich
Dec 2011 - £1.2m fine for gross misconduct after returning without permission to Argentina on November 7.
Dec 2011/Jan 2012 - £1.7m loss of earnings due to Manchester City refusing to pay his wages since end of November
The idea that we are actually paying this clown whilst he gets fat in Argentina is very misguided.

So no pressure what so ever on City to sell. Even worst for Galliani.chemicalboy99 wrote:baresi wrote: at Gallian, you either agree on the terms and f*ckin sign him or just pull off, we all know City's last concern is money, so they won't mind paying his wages for doing nothing better than them feeling they have been bullied out.
