By the way, this does not mean Higuain will play. Mou has always prefered a winger with high workrate in every team he has coached.

In Chelsea it was Robben, in Inter it was Pandev. In Real Madrid, it's Di Maria and Callejon.

They way we currently play means we can go with Barca toe to toe. Winning of course is a different beast all together but games are still more or less tight.

I'm not sure tbh because I'm sure we'll get chances it'll just rest on whether we can translate those into goals.

If someone could just get Xabi some space he will catch the Barca defence off guard more than once.They pin him down wayy too much......a little bit of separation would work very well for him.That's why I have him in theat nothing area between attack and defence.

Ronaldo kick and run will be like bread and butter on the right.

ronaldo cant play on the left against barca, alves has him figured out so completely its not even funny.

Worst that can happen is that we get knocked out of the Copa after two legs of hotly contested football.

On a real level tho.......I think that formation is good.I know some feel that Xabi is useless and should be dropped but honestly he is misused.

I mean think about it how valuable an asset the long ball is against a team like Barca who pin you down...... not a hoof....but a genuinely stroked long ball into space with players like Ronaldo and Di Maria on the pitch.....not to mention Benz and Higuain who have both perfected the art of controlling them.

Not to say we don't need to improve our possession play and overall composure across the pitch......

The real trick here is whether mourinho will play Kaka, Higuain, Callejo or Sahin during the clasico.

playing Starting Callejon and Ronaldo at the same time has not worked for us at all in the past couple of games.

Kaka is not one to really track back

with Higuain Starting, he would have no recourse on the bench.

with Sahin, we dont know what would happen, since he barely played.

Safest formation with Di Maria injured and our form is a trivote, so my pick goes for Sahin.

But Mourinho always pick the clasico to experiment, so he plays with 5 defenders, i wouldnt be shocked at all.

Why do we have to park the bus? Why do we always have to go in to stop Barca? Why is defensive midfield the most important position?

I want the free role defender tho.....just because it's the Nou Camp.To me the longer they don't score....the more chance we have to win.

I also thing in a strange way....playing away frojm the bernebau helps us at this point.

You can't play attacking football all season and then park the bus all of a sudden.That was Inter's advantage,we play in Italy and can get through the league with that kind of football.That's the curse of La Liga,you have to outplay Barca.
