Anybody into Techno?
I've been at Electric Castle with Ion Creanga and some other very good friends, near Cluj-Napoca (the town where I live), two weeks ago and I've seen live some of the best DJs and techno producers in the world: Dixon, Ame, Mind Against & Maceo Plex. Everybody went gaga. (where is the emoticon for mdma pills when you need it?)
Maceo Plex is my fav DJ. Here is a video from the ending of his set at EC.
track #1 Villalobos - Dexter
track #2 Maceo Plex - Solitary Daze
After this, he played one more track: Maceo Plex - Polygon Pulse (you can hear the beginning of it in the end of the clip). The audience was decent, the best people were those who stayed until the and at 8:30 AM local time. Set began at 5:00 AM.
Overall, an amazing experience! I am very happy that Cluj develops its underground techno scene. I can say that because the sets were at least 2:30 hours and mostly non-commercial.

28 is away too young.
His premature death was pretty shocking. I was never a big fan of his music, but it had a great impact on the pop/electronic music industry, and paved the way for countless electronic artists to reach more mainstream audiences. He left/took a break from the industry after realizing that it was affecting his health, so the news of his death came as a surprise to me.

Yeah that's what I was reading about him. I only know and like one song from him ("Wake Me Up" - was huge over here in the US several years ago), but this is indeed a shock. Will be interested in the coroner report whenever it comes out.
