I think I swore at Ronaldo more than anyone in chat, but it was directed at his selfishness. No one should ever doubt what he is capable of. When he goes on an incredible run of goals I am sure everyone will jump on his bandwagon again lol.

Ronaldo has grown, physically he has changed, and his touch is just not that special. he needs to run past people to dribble them, and teams just own him repeatedly. He only has himself to blame.

If you look at the footage of Ronaldo during his first 4/5 months under Pellegrini and the CR since Mourinho joined you'll see there's a major difference.



He no longer plays with his trademark flair, he can't beat a man anymore ( I mean Alves ffs) and he looks depressed every time he's wearing the Madrid shirt.

EDIT: How can you seriously claim the reason he doesn't/can't dribble anymore is due to La Liga having great defenders?

He was dribbling left to right, just having fun owning people

But his body is built the wrong way. it's not as agile as it just to be imo. he also declined abit.

His dribbling in england worked mainly because of the end to end game in England which utilizes his speed and stamina to maximum..

He stopped dribbling due to his high turnover rate which is unacceptable in laliga not the other way around.

It still has nothing to do with Real Madrid ruining him. No one forced him to bulk up. Also he doesn't have the space to run into like he used to. He always used speed to go past players.

He wasnt dribbling people left and right...

@Gil, im surprised you are making that kind of argument. He is failing because he is not able to handle the kind of challenges and pressure he is under. He puts it all on himself, and want to prove the world something. He forgets how to play simple, and he gets owned.

Maybe you are taking a piss, but Ronaldo has always been a uber athlete, not the greatest technician. He always relied on his athleticism to beat people, his close control is not impressive, Joaquin is better at that ffs. He has gotten older, has added weight, and he just doesnt have that same spring he used to have.

I think The Franchise had this discussion with us in the past, La liga defenders are getting better at handling Ronaldo in one on one. They dont jump in and rush the challenge like you do in EPL, they are more patient, and they try to double team him while holding their lines.

ronaldo stopped dribbling for us mid 08, we were always against a wall of 11 players so he never had space to dribble. la liga defenders arent handling him better due to simple math... hes scoring a goal per freaking game.
i used to joke about bad defending in la liga since forlan, kanoute, even ronaldo started owning them ( He only scored 22 odd in his last urd season, 1 season in his utd career he scored over 25) but since cesc went to barca and is scoring like van nistlerooy and van basten combined, i dont see how any la liga fan has the balls to put down epl defending over la ligas.
cr7 takes it all on his own because he gets so many chances in spain. he knows if he misses 1, another is right around the corner... its as simple as that.
he hasnt got rooney, tevez, scholes, giggs in their prime to pass it to. it was obvious he would evolve into what he is now, thats why 80m was spent. ronaldo balances out messi goals.. unless you replace him with darren bent or sturridge. epl = guaranted la liga goals

Ronaldo is not scoring all by himself u know? It doesnt matter how bad you try to portray la liga defenses, RM is a much more potent attacking team that Utd ever was with giggs and co.
