The Franchise wrote:dmize wrote:Damn the Bobcats are terrible, Kemba's a beast though. 22 points right now. I'd like to see what his #'s are since starting.
Edit(smh at this group):
Tyrus Thomas - Completely wasted potential. He's played terrible. Didn't Charlotte give up a 1st rounder for this guy?
Derrick Brown - Black hole. If he gets the ball, don't expect to see it again.
Byron Mullens - Has had a good year so far(esp from mid-range) but another black hole on offense. Can't/won't pass.
Boris Diaw - Content to chuck up 3's and bad shots. Not too mention he came into the season fat. Thinks he's a point forward but he can't do that well either.
Cory Higgins - The GM's son. Enough said.
Gerald Henderson - Good player.
Bismack Biyombo - Really struggles on offense, extremely raw. He looks to dunk the ball, and if he can't do that he'll struggle to finish. But he's a monster on defense and will only improve.
Awful squad, really bad.
Diaw is such a talent, but he has no heart and no love for the game. Only intrested when the team is good, like in Phoenix, but aside from then, he doesnt care enough about the game. The shape he showed up in to camp was disgusting. At least 25lbs overweight and im being generous.
Tyrus has such talent, I watched him at LSU. I have never really been into college ball but there was a brief spell where I watched alot of LSU with him and Big Baby and alot of St. Joes with Nelson and West.
Yeah, Diaw showed up as a fat slob. And I really thought at one point w/ the Bulls TT was on the way to being a good player. He was developing his midranger nicely, and now, he's taken a massive step backwards.
And that St Joes squad was nice, but I'll maintain to this day that Emeka Okafor got robbed. He was the National Player of the Year that year, not Nelson. Dude averaged a double double on 60% shooting and led the nation in blocks while doing it. Although it was voted on before the tourny, so I'm sure that factored in.

Kevin Love extended with the Wolves today. 4 years/62mill. I believe he coulda got a 5th year as well but took 4, most likely to help out the Wolves FO with re-signings.

He held Weber to 16 points on 17 FGA.
Then during the next series, he played out of his mind. they lost 4-2 to LA, but he had to play point guard with Cassell out. he averaged about a 25-15-6 without cassell.
In game seven in 2004 against Sacramento garnett put up a 30-20 game with 5 blocks and 4 steals. (or vise versa on the blocks and steals. either way though, unbelievable)
Now where it really comes down to me if defensive impact.Sure Duncan was a better rim protector and and anchored those teams of defense but KG was one of the most versatile defenders in the history of the game and is probably the best pick and roll defender I've ever seen. But not only that, he gives his heart and soul , but more importantly, he forced everyone else to.
I dunno if there'll ever be a defender like him, today Noah comes to mind but hes still just a poor man's version.
In 04,, Garnett was a animal, this was easily his best season, no question.
KG is versatile in that he can switch on any pick and roll, gaurd at least 3 positions, maybe 4 and of course he lead the entire defence. The most versatile as you said.
But lets also not forget, he couldnt gaurd centers with size. Just didnt have the muscle and frame for it. Duncan could do that, he could do gaurd the 4 or 5 (aside from Shaq) and in terms of leading teams and holding the entire defence together he could do that too. KG really had to play with someone out their bigger than him, Duncan did not.
Though tbh, I find it outragous he has only 1 DPOY. KG that is...though Big Ben was his direct competition and on that Pistons squad its fair he won it too.
Its a shame the Wolves were so injured vs the Lakers in 04, if he would of pulled that off, he would be seen in same light as Duncan is right now I have no doubt.

Garnett has played 4/5 positions in the NBA at one point or another, pretty crazy.
Battle of 2 of the worst in the league. Bobcats-Wizards It's too unbearable to watch so I;m just checkin box scores. Henderson is out now as well, so Kemba has to be their primary scorer and well, he's havin a rough night shooting. He's %'s have been Brandon Jennings-esque(not a good thing, around 40%) but this Bobcat team is so terrible, you can't expect a lot of high quality looks from him. Defenses can just focus on him, and even more so when there's no Augustin or Hendo. The lack of a training camp certainly hasn't helped the young PG's either.
Kemba will never be a high efficiency guy, but I think he will eventually be in the 42-45% range.
Also, John Wall is starting to play better now. He was good against the C's a few games ago and looks like he's starting to find his game again. But as I type that, he just had a TO fit and now has 7 TO's. Ouch, nvm.

*dead* at the Knicks losing again. Damn. They need to make a move, badly. Trade Amare for stretch 4, IDK. A lot people have said trade Melo for a package like Collison/Granger. But if it was me, I would try to move Stat for a 4 that can play on the outside a bit, and open up the paint for Melo/Chandler.

That would be a great grab for the Knicks, but if I'm GM I look to move Stat first. Mainly because he's a couple years older.

I highly highly doubt that New York will be able to trade Melo without the Nets getting involved.
Even if they have to package together their entire team bar Deron...If melo is on the trading block I'm sure the Nets will find a way.

Re: the official Dwayne Wade >>> you thread
Nah, if im the Knicks no chance im trading Melo for Granger and Collison.
I would wait and see what Baron can do and if he isnt at least running the ball and finding open men then Ithink about making trades.
First thing that really needs to go is the coach. His one dimensional gameplan needs a masterpoint at the controls who plays smart. Its too hard to do without thr right peices and the Knicks dont have them.
Either wait till the end of the season or just be done with it and fire him now. Name an interim untill the end of the year and try and get Sloan or someone with some clout.
As for player movement. Amare and Melo for some reason aint working, I cant put my finger on why just yet though. I do think, both need the ball less and need to become finishers.
Seriously, Nash would be great for those two. But its obviously a short term option.

IDK if it's a leverage tactic by Dwight but if he somehow makes it to FA, I think we have a decent shot.

Yeah Boston has a decent shot as do both LA teams, Dallas, New York and Chicago with their extra cap.
I still think Miami could snap him up for Bosh + someone easily....Haslem has that 15 footer too......

Chicago is big on Noah and Boozer has that ridiculous contract. But I think if they Amnestey Boozer Noah,Howard and Gibson as a 3 man rotation is just
Defensively Noah and Him could go on to become the greatest defensive big ban pair in the modern era.

Re: the official Dwayne Wade >>> you thread
And as one high-ranking sneaker executive says, “Adidas simply cannot have its two signature players on the same team in the same market. … Derrick is the face of that market, owns that market, and Adidas can’t possibly have maximum bang for its buck with Dwight there.
“It serves Adidas no purpose. They need them as rivals in competing markets.”
Howard knows this, too. He has an Adidas renewal on deck in the next year, and Los Angeles and Brooklyn guarantee him maximum money.
Top executives with the shoe company have made no secret of the fact that they'd like nothing more than to see Howard in either New York or Los Angeles. With fellow client Derrick Rose in Chicago, Howard would give Adidas a stronghold in two of the country's three biggest markets and the wherewithal to challenge Nike. "They'd love to corner those two markets," said a person connected to the sneaker industry. "They'd be in heaven, I can tell you that."
Adidas doesn't want him in Chicago.

Grizzlies and Clippers are both wearing their ABA throwbacks tonight(Memphis Tams & Los Angeles Stars). I wanna see how they look on TV especially Memphis with the green/yellow. Clippers jersey is lightblue with red.
