If Sky or ESPN are to be believed, Chelsea are on the verge of signing 18 year old Nigerian center back Kenneth Omeruo from Standard Liege (Belgium) and subsequently loaning him out to Eredivisie side ADO Den Haag (Holland, where Kalas is! )

"He will be with the youthful Den Haag team for possibly a year or so to gain playing time and hopefully return to England to fight for a shirt in [the] Chelsea main team," Omeruo’s agent, Obinna Emelogu, told MTNFootball.com.

"It’s a big challenge as a lot is expected of the player.

"I believe in him and I believe after a season with Den Haag, he will be ready for Chelsea."

For his part, the 18-year-old intends to make the most of his temporary move to ADO Den Haag and return to play for the Blues.

"It’s a very huge step in my career and I will grab it with both hands,” Omeruo said.

"I will continue to work hard until I fulfil my dream to play for a massive club like Chelsea."

A good youngster definitely but not one by whom the club will be held to ransom. Probably read in the papers about the supposed big contracts the likes of RLC and Christensen got and thinks he could get a piece of the pie. Adios if that's the case.

We have agreed a new three-year contract for Kenneth. We have all seen the draft of the improved contract and the boy is happy about it. It’s a good contract and we are all happy about how Chelsea have warmed up to him and made him feel very much at home. Everything is not all about money because Chelsea have really taken care of the player.
