Re: Top 100 Footballers in the World
It seems Vidal will be the only Juve player on the list.
Maybe Chiellini and Pirlo will make it.
Would love to hear from Carlo right about now......he's probably at his desktop like
Maicon> Vidal :lucas:

Alves has always been better than Maicon bar 2009-10 season..
Anyways my judgement on Ramos being the world's best fullback was mostly based on Euro 2008..

Lets debate Alves-Ramos-Maicon somewhere else...There are plenty of other less-interesting threads we can ruin with that kind of discussion

Depends.
If Barry is your best defensive player in the midfield (England without Parker) then hell no.

For City's 4-2-3-1 of of sorts imo Barry is better.
Lone DM obviously not.

Imo i even think he better than Chiellini as he tends to be very clumsy at times also his positioning poses lots of question marks in the defense..I may get flamed for this..

Re: Top 100 Footballers in the World
For De Jong to be good in a 4-2-3-1, he'd need to be paired with Schweinsteiger or a similar calibre player.
Barry while still crap IMO, is much more versatile than De Jong.

Re: Top 100 Footballers in the World
The list seems very mixed.
Some players there on current form even if not done a whole lot at CL level (M'Villa, Subotic, Sahin) while others are there purely based on name rather than performance (Kaka, Maicon, Drogba)

True, but thats just one team.
Swap Busquets for one of them it would be De Jong.
All depends on the other players around them.

I thought he will be the Italian version of Pique but he has deceived me..
Good on the ball but clumsy defender and a poor man-marker though he is improving gradually..

Re: Top 100 Footballers in the World
Can i give my opinion on Bonucci?
I honestly think hes the weak link in the Juve team( not just the defence) he is clumsy, makes alot mistakes regularly and Chiellini who is in a uncomfortable at LB at best of times is consistently covering his mistakes.......
Against the best teams in the CL which they will have next year barring a collapse this will be exploited.......
I would sell him or drop him to squad-based player.

Maybe he would be a weak link against quality teams but he has not done that badly this season against Mid-Table teams and he actually did really well against Lazio i believe..
Definitely not worth 16m we paid him..He'll probably remain a squad player in the future imo..
But Barzagli has been a beast this season.Really believe he should be starting ahead of Rannochia for Italy at the euros..

Re: Top 100 Footballers in the World
Barzagli has always been better than Bonucci. Everyone forgot his beast season when Wolfsburg won the Bundesliga? It's just that he played for Wolfsburg which is a shit club, and once the usual transfer and manager crazyness came along, Barzagli was deemed overrated or whatever, and sold.
But he's class.
But he's class.

I strongly disagree.
Don't get me wrong I love Barzagli and I know he's miles ahead of Bonucci and a great classy defender, but Chiellini at CB > Barzagli for me.
