Taiwo really is a fantastic signing... and if we get him his French passport... it'll make it even better. He's way better than any left back in Italy right now in my opinion.

I think we can try some new formation system specially in the offense , we can try play with wingers like Robinho , el shaarawi and pato.

And maybe get a solution for barca tiki-taka

Since it's not really meaningful we should give this formation a try, I assume Astori will be purchased by then, and the deal for El Shaarawy will be official by then as well. I don't know if Mexes will be recovered by them.

For me it's important that we have a very strong midfield. Van Bommel, Gattuso and Prince IMO would be a good idea. Otherwise, I agree with MTDs formation.

Really, the key is to put pressure on barca. Our midfield needs to literally run all over them. I dunno how many if you watched the CL final, but if you noticed, the reason Man U did really good in the first 10-15 minutes was because they wouldn't let barca breathe. They had no space and as such were rattled and weren't passing in their usual amazing style.

Anyway, all this is academic because the game is virtually worthless. Allegri should just take this as an opportunity to try El shaarawy and Astori as well as allow Taiwo to adjust.

We are not in it to win it IMO. Might as well see what some of our fringe players / youth are made of...

I wrote quite a long reply on how to defeat Barcelona a few weeks ago, however I'll only copy it in if we meet them in an official match.

You need to be exceptionally well conditioned to defeat Barcelona, it's far too optimistic to talk of breaking up their tiki-taka in a pre-season match, we should simply try out our youngsters. I like Brigate's formation assuming those players are available, though it places too much of a burden on Van Bommel to provide the link to El Shaarawy as our two side mids aren't going to have too much of an opportunity to act as ball carriers, and we'll struggle to hold possession in the build up more than usual, however it's the Audi Cup so it's no real concern. If Cassano's available I'd play him over Verdi before subbing the youngster on at some point, possibly for El Shaarawy or a midfielder if we've gone to hell. Antonio needs as much game time as possible in the pre-season for us to guage his fitness, motivation and potential to slot into the deeper CAM role.

This is the spot where our youngsters and fringe players should get the opportunity to prove themselves. IMO this should be the formation.

I think we will try and get everyone match fit and win this little tourney. plenty of time for the youngsters to play whenever they end up in the states.
