What Formation does Your Team Play???

It recently occurred to me that I don't watch as much football as I used to. So much so that I don't even know the regular XI or the formation of even the major clubs. I think Barcelona and Juventus plays some sort of 433 and 352 respectively. I know formation is a pretty fluid thing and managers change it in accordance to requirement or players. But surely each club has some blue-print???

Would appreciate your inputs, comments, analysis (but please, don't pick a fight).

Arsenal: Mostly 4-2-3-1, but occasionally use 4-1-4-1/4-3-3. Although there's such fluidity granted to the attackers that when you watch us play you'll barely recognise either formation. Current starting XI: Cech; Bellerin, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal; Coquelin, Cazorla; Ramsey, Ozil, Alexis; Walcott

Sevilla: Again, mostly 4-2-3-1, but Emery likes to switch to a 4-4-2 quite often. The formations are quite rigid and tend to use two DMs. The usual starting XI: Sergio Rico; Coke, Carrico, Rami, Tremoulinas; Krychowiak, N'Zonzi; Reyes, Banega, Vitolo; Gameiro

Real Madrid: Depending on what players are available we play 3 different formations; 4231, 433 or 442. When Bale is available we tend to go for the first one when he is not then we usually go for a 442

I think it is funny to see that Bayern posts their teams always with Neuer + 10 more players in no particular order. With Pep, strict formations are so overrated XD

Well, we've played 4-1-4-1, 4-3-3, 3-4-3, 3-5-2, and 1-5-4.
In other matches we've used different formations though.

Yes Bayren was particularly frustrating for me :coffee:

. Specially with Lahm playing MF and a MF (forgot the name) playing defense.

If you look at Manuel Neuer coming out sometimes up to the middle line, his false 1 could likely be considered a somewhat laid back midfield position, too.

Actually we now are playing different formations defensively than offensively. no longer are we leaving 3 forwards up front and not contributing to team defense. That was our Balance problem last season.
