Overeem is my favorite fighter, been following him for almost a decade so I always make sure to watch his fights

being a fan of his is disgusting because he always gets your hopes up then disappoints smh

was a shit card for the most part

if you have even a mild interest in MMA though everyone should be watching Jones vs Cormier 2 in 3 weeks

the GOAT fight at HW so obviously not, Jones cuts to avoid it, Jones would not be top 5 at HW.

I really hope they make Gus vs Jones 2 in the near future he won the first fight in a lot of peoples eyes ( I disagree) and Jones got battered the most he has in his career, I do think Jones has declined since then personally despite finishing DC, still massive win for Jones, feel bad for DC as a lot of people will never view him as the legitimate champ now despite him being insanely talented and beating the top LHW's handily besides Jones, Jones just has his number.

i don't think Jones has declined at all. He just hasn't fought in a long time and been off.

He's such a physical freak, just like his brother. Would be stupid for him to cut when he can clearly fight at this weight. It's not like he looks ill like McGregor did when he cut to 145.

Cormier should probably retire now. He looked dead after the fight.

yeah it's fair to say it could have just been ring rust that his last couple fights he's looked off by his prior standards, it's hard to say someone has declined when they finish Cormier like that, guess we need to see more now that Jones will hopefully be fighting actively again but unlike before I don't get the impression he's unbeatable at LHW

no idea where cormier goes from here, he has comparatively little mileage relative to his age since he came into MMA quite late, but he probably won't be getting a title shot again while Jones is champ. He could actually go up to HW since he fought there before and his teammate Cain is basically retired nowadays and no longer champ, which was an issue in the past for him.

I agree it would be stupid for him to not cut to LHW but at the same time I've listened to Jones say he's gonna go up to HW for years and act like he would be GOAT there

too many bad matchups for someone with little KO power like him there and I just can't take someone who cuts weight seriously as a GOAT contender when the majority of top HW's have 15-20 lbs on him on fight night. GOAT LHW though, sure without a doubt.

He has dominated his weightclass more than anyone ever has. Has never really lost. Crazy feat.

He can't really fight at LHW anymore if he wants a bigger legacy.

There's talk of a Lesnar fight. He still got the measurements on Lesnar but would need long time to build muscle probably, at least if they don't make steroid acceptable for that fight Laughing

I've noticed they usually give champions a lot longer to recover, apparently she tapped to strikes, I didn't catch that.
