How is his takedown D extremely good? Because he didn't get taken down by Diaz or a panicked Alvarez? Khabib would take him down at will and make Conor his bitch.

Whatever. This fight is not gonna happen anyway because Conor already said he needs to see active and Nurmagomedov is far from active.

Khabib fought twice in the last 7 months and took basically 0 damage. That's just Conor trying to dodge a bullet.

Yes he was injured for a long time. So was Cruz. So are a lot of top fighters. It is what it is.

But yes, UFC will do everything they can to keep Conor away from Khabib.

I think this is a simplistic view of it. I still think Khabib is a very tough fight for Conor, but if he gets tagged by McGregor the way he did by Johnson he will go to sleep. Both fighters have ways of winning that fight, but it's definitely one of the riskier ones that Conor could take.

it's the toughest match up for him IMO at LW

but the one I want to see the most is vs Ferguson, Ferguson gets tagged a lot though but he is like a zombie, if he can take Conor's shots it would be an entertaining fight

Alvarez didn't even go to sleep though.. he took multiple big hits and then got TKO'D, not KO'D.. Conor's power at 155 isn't the same as 145..

Khabib might get hurt but he will last long enough to take Conor down and then it will be all over.. Conor doesn't have MJ's stamina

Khabib looks mad small. Eddie looked tiny compared to Conor too tbh. But he would ragdoll Conor if/when he gets hold of him. His grappling is next level.

Funny how in his post fight victory speech he mentions that if you want to beat him you need to bring 'attributes' like being big and tall'

when his reach advantage over most of his top wins is very noticeable

finished 3 top 5 opponents in the first round (including top 10 all time HWs), won the HW title and defended it

Did you see the shots that Conor was landing on him though? They weren't power punches. That he was even getting dropped as much as he was is a testament to Conor's power. He doesn't load up he hits precise and with great timing.

Also taking Conor down doesn't mean it's over. We've seen a top wrestler in Mendes take Conor down and pound on him and Conor just stalked him down over time. McGregor is now fighting at a more natural weight to him and he's really improved his endurance, and I'd imagine also his ground game since if he were to fight Khabib he'd have a proper training camp to prepare for him.

As with any fighter at the top people are quick to jump to conclusions and actively search for ways of exploiting them. I'm not saying Khabib couldn't win, or that it's even unlikely, but it's far from a foregone conclusion and McGregor has a lot of ways to win that fight.

Thus negating his reach advantage, i agree with him tbh.

Diaz is 6 ft plus and look at the issues that gave him, which is why IMO he should want none of Stephen Thompson.

It's all relevant though as keep in mind Conor is 5'9 lol.

Sure, but they're very different kind of grapplers. Mendes also has better stand-up, and Conor was training to fight Aldo so I would imagine his takedown defence wasn't worked on much. He would have had to change his gameplan when Mendes stepped up. To be honest I don't think McGregor gets enough credit for taking that fight, and winning as he did.

it was a very solid win, bit embarrassing when he was literally begging the ref to stand it up when Mendes had him on the ground though Laughing

anyone else want to see a Holloway vs Mcgregor rematch? doubt Conor will fight at 145 again tbh but that would be my most anticipated fight for him..Holloway has improved since and is one of the most exciting fighters IMO

Did anyone watch the Chandler/Henderson fight? What a great fight. I actually am a huge Chandler fan. It's too bad he's not a very smart fighter because he has all the tools to be a top 3 LW in the world. The suplex he landed was a thing of beauty. Though there's no way that was a split decision...Henderson got dominated.
