Re: Steve Bruce Sacked
Next is Blackburn manager Steve Kean, also if Newcastle continue to play like this st James park might become to big for Alan Pardew to contain.

I have my doubts about MON, tbh he turned the NUFC job before because of geographical reasons.....
Unless the situation with his wife has been sorted out i dont see it happening.

Re: Steve Bruce Sacked
Bruce could have signed a proven striker who gets goals in the Premier League but he bought someone like Craig Gardner who just sits on the bench. Some of the signings like Westwood, Larsson, Vaughan, Wickham and Ji but we need to sign a proven goalscorer to play up front with Bendtner.

Re: Steve Bruce Sacked
No chance of matteo, we will want some one experienced.
If I was a gambling man I would put money on MON. Its widely known he is a Sunderland fan and has been since he was a kid.
He wants to get back in the game so would be a perfect opportunity.
An outside chance would be Hughes.
Short could be ambitious and shock us though, Prior to appointing Bruce we did have talks with Manchini and were reportedly interested in Billic.
Or then again he could go the other way and get some 1 like Mclaren.

Have heard Mark Hughes is another candidate.
O'Neill still favourite though.

Re: Steve Bruce Sacked
I did'nt know MON was a Sunderland fan probably another reason why he turned us down other than the fact he had problems moving that far away from his wife ( who had cancer at the time i think)
Naturally would be a fantastic choice.

Di Matteo is assistant at Chelsea atm, even if Sunderland wanted him i could'nt see him leaving tbh.

Re: Steve Bruce Sacked
Not surprised at all by this. Nothing personal against Bruce, but he strikes me as someone who doesn't have a clue how to get the best out of his players (baring Darren Bent).

Di Matteo would be perfect tbh.
Shouldn't be too long before AVB is sacked and Di Matteo is available.
