Re: Was Inter the best team in the world 09/10
The best team wins. Simple. Dude, Inter defended like total beasts. How can you blame inter when barca was playing at home and passing around the box like little pussies? Can't get in? Lets pass back to the defense and hope they come. What barca did that game was anti football, not inter. Inter played ultra defensive, sure, but was barca helping with the useless side passing? they were the ones playing anti-football, not barca. And we saw that inter can attack. 3-1 vs barca, 2-0 vs bayern. You don't get that from being a "defensive, anti football" team

Well, first of all it wasn't a disallowed goal, referee had already whistled. 'Clearly showed it hit him on the chest'?
It doesn't seem 'clearly touched the chest'. It seems to me it touched his hand. Then again, we can't really see anything from this angle I tried to find one where it 'clearly showed it hit him on the chest' but I could not.
Also, what's the point of pointing out mistakes for Inter and not against them? Why try to make them look bad? At least list all mistakes in both games so we can rightfully judge if Inter was (or not) helped by the referees.
And how were they lucky? They faced English champion, Spanish (and CL) champion and then German champion. You can't get much more bad luck than that.
And why didn't bojan get a yellow card for that, unlike RVP? We will never know...
Just poking fun barca fans

Goal that shouldn't of counted and a goal that should've is what knocked out Barca.
Barca should of know won the Champions League 3 years straight

I dont think they were the best team, but they got the job done. Any manger would be happy as long as the team gets the job done.

they got the job done on every stage though. beating the champions of every major league.
and ultimately beating the supposed best team in the world
for me... this equals the best team in the world. at least in 09/10

some of u really do have selective memory. you choose to remember only what makes your argument stronger, and hide/forget other as important facts.Devil-Is-Red wrote:wigglesworth wrote:Superpeppe wrote:Inter was a good team they deserved to win but they were also lucky, which it is part of soccer.
How were they lucky. Their luck was to have to face the English, Spanish and German league champions with Barcelona being the reigning European champion.
If that's luck, what would bad luck be? Having to play with 10 men for a whole game against Barcelona? Oops, that happened too.
the fact that Chelsea should have got a penalty kick in the 1st leg when Kalou was fouled just before half time. Inter got away with it.
The fact that Barca had a legit 2nd goal disallowed in the 2nd leg when the ref blew for hand ball against Toure, even though replays clearly showed it him on the chest before Bojan scored.
No shame in having luck. Every team has had it on their way to winning the CL, it doesn't mean you're any less stronger or whatever.
i am not sure about penalty in chelsea game, coz i can't recall it 100%
but for barca dissallowed goal, there was one r 2 wrongly called offsides on a millito who was free like bird in front of goal....if anything it was barca who was lucky to not get slaughtered like 5-1 in san siro, as a lot of big misses from inter attackers.

inter won the champion league..
if barca fans wants to complain that they should have won 3 CL champion in a role, they should also count the chelsea, arsenal and real madrid controversial

Barca won in 06 thanks to Lehman. And even then they were getting pwned but Larsson saved them with 2 fluke passes. They weren't the best team.
See, we could all do the same.
The team that wins the trophy is by de facto the best team in the world. They have proof, what does the other teams have to proof they were the best at that time?
barca deserved the trophy in the 06 final. eboue is the one that dived for the free kick leading to campbells goal which happened after guilys goal disallowed a few minutes earlier. lehmans fault for getting sent off. the red evens things out.
anyway the best team that year was milan, and barca had the best player in ronnie. barca passed milan in the semis and it was a good underdog victory. just like inter passed barca in the semis, a good underdog victory. but whatever if inter want to be called the best team in 2009/10 then fine.

Re: Was Inter the best team in the world 09/10
After carefully analysing this topic, I conclude that Internazionale Milano was the best team in the 2009/ 2010. This is based on the fact that they defeated the champions of Germany, England and Spain. Furthermore, they managed to win Serie A, Coppa Italia, UEFA Champions League as well as the FIFA Club World Cup. These results were much superior to the results of other clubs, which means that other clubs were not the best team in the world.
Now, is it possible to conclude this thread?

Let's not nitpick please, for everything you said i could say similar that would have been positive for Inter.
Barca @ Stamford bridge was luck too?

barca was disadvantaged as much as chelsea in the stamford bridge so called "scandal". if the ref loves baca so much why would he send off abidal in the 80th minute when anelka tripped over his own legs and abidal was standing 1 metre away from him. most of those penalty claims were drogba and malouda going down easy. the only real penalty was pique's handball and that was after abidal got sent off. barca were wrongfully down to 10 men, a goal down and had to play the last ten minutes like that.
sorry i just had to say that whenever somebody brings up the stamford bridge incident. both teams got screwed over.
