That's most likely why Villa has been rested alot more in the recent weeks, and not for the reason that MARCA and AS were saying(that Villa will be sold because Guardiola doesn't rate him anymore)..

Re: David "El Guaje" Villa
I like how you needed this chance to say a positive about your club. A simple Animo Guaje would of done
Or how about the fans chanting "Raul, Raul Raul Raul" towards a man that helped Spain win it's first World Cup? Classy

True! Can't say the same about all of RM fans though.
Anyway, i hope this does not mean his time with us is over. I mean, Alexis could step into his place during this time, even Cuenca could be used more and more and cement his place here. So 6 months out plus the time he needs to get to top form with his age... I am afraid his time with Barca is more or less over

Re: David "El Guaje" Villa
I agree I think this just starts the age of Cuenca for us. Too bad Affelay is also out, he would of been needed right now. When is Affelay projected to be back, March?
I don't think we go after anybody in the window, I think Cuenca can fill in for him

Re: David "El Guaje" Villa
Maybe...I think pep will give cuenta more playing time in villas position but if hes not ready yet I see them buying at least a utility striker in January.
Also IF the report about neymar are true then I highly doubt we will get a striker in January.....GL Villa!!

Blackmore. wrote:I still have total faith in both Pedro and Villa, who are the people that have lost faith in either of them? They have a very important role for us in the second half of the season with their experiance and past with the club. BarcaLearning, you'll find that both players are still fan favorites. Take a back seat, son.
James0311 wrote:Well, you can't say he is not important to the team as he was before because of a one single game, this was the first big game which Villa didn't start.
Mascherano ( who is our best defender this season ) also didn't play that game at all so is he not important to the team as well ?
Villa is still a quality striker and I have a lot of faith in him, he'll play a lot, It is just that Pep is using a lot of rotation this season with the addition of Cecs and Alexis.
David Villa will play a lot of games, he'll be fine.
CBarca wrote:It happens. Striker is always the most 'fluctuating' role.
I don't know if he'll ever hit his 'prime' level again, but he certainly will improve form. He's a +20 goals a season striker, at least.
Khaledbarca wrote:David Villa said in November: "In recent weeks I have pains in the tibia... it does bother me. I hope they disappear soon."
Just confirmed again, great to know that hes a fan favourite and most still have faith in him And probably explains his dip in form of late...

That would be incredible hopycritical of your club. They are the first one to try and injure him(tries to elbow him when they miss they step on his leg) and then as windkick said chanting "raul, raul, raul" everytime he has the ball..

Re: David "El Guaje" Villa
Villa has the best celebration after goals IMO in our team. Hopefully he will be back in April.
What was better goal in your opinion - his goal in UCL Final vs United or his goal in Supercopa first leg?

Hopefully Villa and his swag will come back soon, I'm tired of seeing average Cuenca and Pedro in first squad. Swagilla
Only Pep in this club has more swag than Villa.

Re: David "El Guaje" Villa
swag hmm...actually I think a lot of our players have swag, Villa also has them certainly For example, Messi and Alves has completely different swag but they get alone so well And Alves' swag should be mentioned as the best also
Was the best striker in the world until his dip in form last year and then injury...

David Villa receives 1,000 paper cranes from Barcelona's Japanese supporters
The Catalan club's Japanese fans have put together a gift for the striker as he goes through the final stages of his recovery after suffering a serious injury in December
Barcelona striker David Villa has received 1,000 paper cranes from the club's supporters' group in Japan as a token of support in the player's race for fitness.
The 30-year-old has been out of action since December, when he sustained a fractured tibia in the Club World Cup semi-final against Al Sadd in Japan.
"There are a lot of Villa fans in Japan and the injury affected all of us," Hiroki Nakano, president of the supporters' group, told Barca's website.
"The day after his injury, the fans wanted to do something for him."
The Japanese fans then put together 1,000 paper cranes, which symbolise good luck and health, each one with messages of support and encouragement for the striker.
Villa, who is expected to make a comeback from his injury in April, did not hide his surprise at receiving the gift and noted he has fond memories of his time in Japan.
"All of these things give me strength to keep on going and continue with my recovery," Villa said.
"I will keep these with a lot of affection. I am sure that they will give me good luck and I will be able to return stronger.
"Even though I was injured in Japan, I have great memories. We won a very important title for the club and for me, it was the most important title that I had yet to win.
"I want to thank them for all the time they spent doing this for me."
