Best Striker in the world for quite a long time now.
Anyone want to dispute that?

Re: David Villa
Not even top 5 when he's on his knees servicing Messi in Barcelona.
For Spain, that's a different story.

Re: David Villa
I think Eto'o is better than the both of them. He has a ruthless killer instinct in front of goal. He's like a hungry lion when the big match comes. The big stage was made for guys like Samuel Eto'o. He's a guy who can score boat loads of goals, and in all the important matches especially.
Regarding Ibra, I don't think he's better than Villa.
When Ibra scores in a champions league final, come talk to me.
You can argue that consistency goes to Ibra - his teams are usually built around him (except for Barca). He's more athletic than Villa in the sense that he can do more with his body. And he always wins the league wherever he plays.
But for me, that argument does not hold. Ibra has been choking on the big european stage constantly. Yes, he's been decisive for his teams in the leagues, but he's always playing in a league-contending team such as Inter, AC, and Barca. Villa has not had that luxury until he came to Barca. And now he will start winning league titles too. Just watch.
Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if Barca's monopoly on la liga lasted another 5 years. The way barcelona deprive la liga teams of possession is phenomenal. We all know spanish teams can't play their game without the ball.

Ibra and Eto'o are better in my eyes..Both of them play in a relatively weak NT too..

Re: David Villa
Eto'o, RVP, Gomez, Cavani, Aguero, Higuain, Benzema, etc. are all better, in varying degrees, to Villa. Villa was among the best in Euro 2008 and still darn good in the WC. But he's getting older and his skills are eroding fast now. Went into a horrific slump last year from January until May. Basically, as you get older, you can't sustain fitness... which is what's happening to him. He'll probably start well and then fade as the season goes along.

Agreed IMO, Villa is like a one hit wonder in games now. Doesn't do a shit then just pops out of nowhere and scores lmao
Been ruined ever since Barca

Scored 23 goals and 9 assists last season despite playing on the left wing also hit the post 10+ times which with a little more luck could have improved his record massively....
Yeah definitely ruined
RVP,Cavani, Aguero, Higuian, Benzema?
Amazing how underrated Villa is on here definitely top 5 life of playing for Barca i suppose as Eto'o and Ibra were both considered overrated on here when they were at Barca.....
Now they are on all your lists lmfao....

Re: David Villa
As a matter of fact, I considered Ibra overrated then AND now. Also, Villa is still a great striker but his fitness level is eroding at a good rate it seems. But his off the ball running and finishing is still world class and would still generate a good amount of fear among opposing defenders.
If I consider him the best striker in the world, nope. I don't consider any striker the best in the world currently.

RVP, Cavani, Aguero, Higuian, Benzema better then Villa....good lord what is going on.....
He played exactly the same level last season as he did in previous seasons where he was known as the best striker in the world by loads, Madrid fans included.
The second he went to Barca, that obvious stopped.
This thread is certainly in the right place.

Re: David Villa
You guys do realize that Villa's efficiency was beyond horrific last year. It was around 13.5% (goals to shots taken). Everyone else i mentioned above was around the 20% range or better. To me, that's just extremely poor and cannot be considered WC... especially when you consider that most of Barca's chances come from point blank.
