Re: Game of Thrones
Just finished Feast for Crows, I was deceived by all of you...that was a good read
- Spoiler:
- Granted, the ironmen arc was tedious, and Brienne's was like pulling teeth (to put it nicely), but Jaime, Arya, Sansa/Littlefinger and the Martell's more than made up for it IMO - Dorne

Re: Game of Thrones
No way I'm waiting for season three on TV, time to start the books.
I've decided to go back and read A Game of Thrones and A Clash of Kings before moving ahead to A Storm of Swords.
Reading on-line is doing me, until I go to a book shop.
Here's a link if anyone wants it...

Re: Game of Thrones
Agree with Bazinga. Dance with Dragons was an absolute dud. I get that it's a saga and all...but a 1000 pages ? of that ? Granted, it focused on a timeline which coincided with the previous book..but fuk me was I bored. I hate having to labour my way through a book, and that's exactly what I had to do with this one. Wouldn't be bitching as much if it was around 600 pgs. But it wasn't, and so fk you GRR Martin.
I'm wondering if the tv show would even last until the 6th book...and then once that season hits..ppl will actually have something solid to complain about.
Also
And now 2 books, over 8 years ? Thanks but no thanks. In that sense, this series is grossly strung out and definitely not worth the hype or wait.

- Spoiler:
- What the fk is deal with killing off the major characters ? Is there no other way to grip an audience ? I mean..this isn't originally a tv show..and at this point it looks like he just killed off Jon Snow just for the sake of drama and a climactic conclusion. If he's miraculously alive next book, I wouldn't be surprised. And if he stays dead..then I'm not in the least bit entertained.

Re: Game of Thrones
The dragged out nature of that book is the precise reason I think Feast and Dance will be combined into one or two seasons with Dance getting shunted out and snipped.

Re: Game of Thrones
Storm of Swords was easily the best book in the series . So much going on there. Amazing stuff.
Finished Dance of Dragons a while back and while I agree with it being drawn out to the point of ridiculousness, I still liked this book quite a bit. Very rich, very well told and every bit a GRRM book. I for one, am more than willing to wait. So many stories are yet to be told now. So many game changers afoot.

Re: Game of Thrones
ok just finished DOD......Book spoilers
the show is actually going to be finished no matter what as the writer has informed the two major producers of the show the major plot points incase he should die before the books were completed although if that were to happen im pretty sure the shows quality will drop greatly.
- Spoiler:
- Gonna be extremely pissed if they dont bring Jon back in a similar fashion as Dondarrion or Catelyn Stark as i think he was the only character to keep me attached to the last book
also i felt after SOS these 2 last books in large parts felt more like fillers than anything else
