no its not official yet...

I like the idea of not buying a CB and giving the youth products more time, you guys have the mentality that since you had a very unlucky season with injuries that it will happen again and are willing to spend 40m for a benched center back, which is illogical.
I understand it's risky but just because Pique and Mascherano had a bad season doesn't mean you replace them, have faith in your players.

I don't know anything about Le and Ca. They are coming to fill the two biggest weak links at the B, the CB and the DM...
If they are good enough, the B will be better than last season with a CF that can score (Dongou instead of Rodri) an older Deulofeu, and a better right winger than Femenia (Miguel Angel).

Aside from CB and DM, the other question mark of the B will be maturity. It's hard to be competitive with all your players being juveniles or almost. Maybe they should have kept Carmona, or sign a couple of free transfers around 25 years old to secure staying at 2a.

I'm hopeful about Le & Ca, Sporting's youth academy churns out some impressive talent not unlike our own La Masia - if nothing else, I expect them to bring an edge that's been lacking in the squad

But some veteran leadership, for sure...Armando's absence will be palpable otherwise

Guys, not sure if you recall but some time back I had told you that to some extent I trust my ability to be able to distinguish between the rumors where there is smoke without fire and where there is actually some fire. This was proved true in case of Mascherano when right from the beginning I told everyone that there seems to be some truth to this. Now whether we like it or not the Javi Martinez rumors need to be taken seriously. They are not complete crap like those of Cabaye, Torres and Bale have been.

Martinez is the only CB we are linked with and he isn't even a CB... We do need a CB. Barta looks good though and can only improve. A good preseason for him imo and a good start to the year as well. What do you guys think of Fontas as a DM? In Copa Del Rey, Fontas usually plays as the oppositon as usually weak... though since Barta has come in and presuming he wouldn't get many games like Fonti, maybe shift Fontas at DM? A CB line of Fontas and Barta would be risky imo. Leave too many gaps... This is presuming that Fontas does not get loaned/sold in the transfer market.

Fontas won't be with the 1st team this season, I feel pretty confident of that

I hope the local papers have it completely backwards and Javi isn't the focus of the transfer market for the club

Athletic are not a selling club. Rosell won't spend 40M + Taxes for a CB. Don't see where these rumors become possible.

Rather go for M'Vila than Martínez. Better defensively and as good as Javi at almost everything else. Cheaper as well.
