Note: Muniesa already made his debut in 2009 for Barca in a league match Vs Osasuna at age of 17.

Two defenders getting promoted? Surely there must be a mistake... These guys will probably be playing in the first few games of Copa but there won't be much game time for them. Why not Roberto? He has been playing more games than these guys and shown his potential.

Yes... I don't understand the promotion of these defenders. Its actually 3, because both Bartra and Montoya have automatic promotions I believe. As does JDS.

If this is all true... the only way it can happen for me is if we loan some of them +Fontas.

On top of this we still want a CB on transfer...

Only way I can see this happening is:

RB: Alves, Montoya
CB: Pique, Mascherano, Puyol, Muniesa, (Bartra and Fontas on loan)
LB: Abidal, Adriano

Either this.. or perhaps Masch will want a transfer...

We can't let Mascherano go. Not with Puyol nearing the end of his career.

Exactly... so how do we accomodate all these guys?

Only thing I can think of is loan, and I don't like that idea.

Abidal/Fontas/Muniesa (left)

Pique/Puyol/Mascherano (center)

Mascherano/Puyol/Bartra(right)

How many times are we going to be using that tactic as it has been proven that it costs a lot of goals. I like the idea of loaning these guys out for a season or half (especially for Fontas and his fitness) but we still need to buy a defender because Im sure Pep (or any other coach) will not want to have (inexperience guys in the defense. Lately we have seen that we do need a defender as Puyol and Pique get too much time on the pitch.

3 at the back does not entirely mean worse "defense" The Osasuna match from my point of view had horrible position 6 zone coverage, our def midfield area was getting hijacked over and over, which was pretty rare for eye to see (in Pep era that is)

But ultimately i agree on staying put with 4, its a risky team in our most precious Cup defense so, no time for even the slightest of risks.

Didn't mean the Osuanna game but most times we've used it, we end up drawing.

I think he would have done well at Barca, but I think if we bought him, Pedro definitely would not have developed as he did.

Well it was a choice between one of Villa, Ibra, Suarez, Benzema, Forlan if I remember correctly.

Hey Dani, can you tell me a little about javi garcia? how good he has become? his style, his quality on the ball and how he compares to other current spanish midfielders? much appreciated

Impressive. He has become like a more physical, less technical Busquets. Defensively, he relies on interceptions and being in the right position. But he has size and wins aerial balls and 50-50 tussells.

On the ball he has guile and likes to drop deep and spray passes out wide. He isnt anything special on the ball, but he is more than functional. I think he avoids dribbling because he isnt very good at it, so under pressure he has to move it quickly via pass.

I dont watch Benfica all that much, maybe 10 times a season probably so keep that in mind.

To compare him to other mids? I can only compare him to those deep players, like Busquets, Bruno, Javi Martinez when he plays there. I personally think he is better than Bruno, but not as good as the other two. He is more limited technically, but on his game he can be just as effective.

Thanks. Would you say that he has range in his passing, quality finding people deep? or he plays safe passes couple of yards ahead of him all the time?

Plays it safe more often than not, also, Aimar when he plays really likes to come to the ball, as does Gaitain, he always has easy passing options so he goes for that.

Not to say he cant hit a longer one.

Not sure. I dont think he and Alonso fit very well though, neither go forward.

I think they are pretty different players.

Javi Garcia better than Bruno Soriano? I have barely watched Javi Garcia, but if he is better than Bruno, it means he is a heck of a footballer. Bruno Soriano strikes me as the most similar player to Busquets in the market (poor man's left-footed Busquets though).

I like Bruno too, but I think he is.

What do you guys think of Bruno vs Javi Martinez? Javi is more versatile and can play more roles but I feel they are comparable as they're the other best DMs for Spain other than Busquets.

Well I prefer Javi, he has more to his overall game.

How do you think we could use him in the team? I say he could be a more than adequate replacement for Keita if we decide to sell him
