UFC 140 was great, the Khan fight was good and best of all he lost! Now the ridiculous talk of him fighting Floyd and Manny can stop.

Honestly it came down to those 2 BS point deductions for pushing

Re: Boxing thread
Lamont Peterson wins on Majority Decision........
Cant say he didnt deserve it tbh, Khan was doing far too much showboating and the two docked points he got he cant complain about either he was constantly being warned by the ref......
Very entertaining fight and much better than i expected and glad i stayed up for it......
In the end iam happy for Peterson he deserves to be a World Champion and definitely is another one of boxings rags to riches to stories.
@ Swagg
He was'nt just pushing he was leaning on his neck and pushing his neck down..... He was warned more than enough.....

Khan only has himself to blame...not the ref....was fouling alot and could have lost more points

The 2 deductions where for pushing, nothing else.. Who takes points off for pushing? I'm not a Khan fan but I think he got screwed based on the way the bout was scored.. Without those 2 points off he would have won
Peterson still did good though.. Not taking anything away from him

Re: Boxing thread
Disgrace. Absolute Disgrace
Khan was fighting 2 people not 1. The referee was an amatuer little sh1t. How does such an inexperienced ref get allocated a big fight like that one ?
Why wouldn't khan push him back ? Peterson had his head way too low, he was looking for a reaction from khan. Referee should have talked to Peterson instead of deducting points.
Khan was the better fighter overall, Should have won if it wasnt for the stupid point deduction
With a different Ref, in a rematch. Khan would destroy Peterson. Anyday, Anytime.
Like he said, CHEATED - NOT DEFEATED.

LOL RG you fanboy.
But no seriously, I didnt watch the fight and I heard the hometown decision talk.
Hopkins always said, when you fight in your opponants backyard, start knowing your two points down.
Heard it was a great fight and a shame there is more controversial decisions. Its been this way the last 4 or 5 big fights.

Re: Boxing thread
Quit it RG lol, for one thing he was pushing his head down.....
And another thing i suppose you missed out on the amount of times Khan had him in a headlock lol?
the total push count for Amir Khan between rounds 3-12 was 49 double-arm pushes lol......
Khan has no one to blame but himself, stop being a fanboy lol.

Re: Boxing thread
OK just watch the fight.
First of all, LOL at David Haye showing his face in public..let alone a boxing ring.
As for the fight. Firstly, neither of Khans knockdowns should have counted. First one was rightly ruled out because the ref got in the way and caused the fall, Khan didnt even land. The one which scored, Khan had him agaisnt the ropes, both hit each other (Peterson with the cleaner, harder blow) and because Khan was so close Peterson had nowhere to put his feet after the exchange and fell. But the ref counts it, so I have to its a 10-8 round.
As for the score, I had it 144-133 Khan.
I think the point taken away from him were harsh, but for sure fair. I wrote down how often he was told to stop pushing or holding Peterson´s head, I gave up after the 7th because it was at least 15 times. Im sorry, but he did it time and time again and got called for it. I do think, other fighters get away with it and I think its rare to see it called and then points being taken away but he did do it way too often and I cant really say the ref was being unfair.
I did feel though this is where the ref made a mistake. He told Khan time after time, but what he should of done was call time out and say to Khan "one more time, and I take a point", he didnt do that. Instead, he kept telling him stop, kept telling him stop and then took it. I dont know if in the rules you have to say something like "one more time and I take a point", I imagine no, but it would of been better for everyone I feel.
As for the fight itself, very good fight, back and forth action.
In the center of the ring, it was even but Khan getting in alot of volume. His fast hands were effective while Peterson wasnt jabbing enough to get inside. When he did get inside or trap Khan on the ropes however he smashed him with the cleaner, more hurtful shots. Some powreful blasts to the body and some superb uppercuts. Khan hit him with a a few himself, but mostly in the center of the ring.
I felt Khan did as he usually does, run. His defence is still leaky and gets caught around and through the gaurd. I felt also, he throws lots of punches, however many of them dont actually land. He often threw 3, 4, 5 punch combos with him landing nothing or maybe sneak 1 partially blocked 1 in.
Punches stats have him throwing a ton more (200), but only landing a few (12) more. Peterson hit him at a much greater %, I think 39% to 31% in the end.
It was a very close fight which I felt could of gone either way. I scored it round by round and my final result was a 1 point win for Khan but 2 or 3 of those round were VERY hard to score and very close.
I am glad there will be a rematch, because it was a good fight and would like to see it again. I think Khan will have equal problems, in the UK or anywhere else because Peterson caught him with some big shots and it was really a toss up in the end.
I wouldnt call it a robbery by any means and I think the points taken from Khan were harsh, but in the rules, fair.

Re: Boxing thread
Great analysis. Guess u are right about it afterall
But a Rematch on a neutral ground now. Confident Khan will ammend his errors this time round.
he needs to be serious and act mature though. Really Arrogant atm. He talks about Fighting the likes of Mayweather, He isnt on the level atm.

Re: Boxing thread
I think the pulling of the head down was much worse than the pushing, I felt he did that more.
Thats the problem with Khan, he did that because he cant defend properly, like Manny. He runs, but if he gets stopped than he gets hit. Khan saying Peterson was coming in with his head..but how many times did he head but him? Not once.
Khan didnt like him coming close because thats the only position he was in danger, so he held his head down and pushed him away.
As for learning from his mistakes..he will have to, because Peterson isnt a chump, thats clear.

Re: Boxing thread
Ward wins on UD.
115-113 115-113 118-110
It was a supreme performance from start to finish a " boxing clinic" tbh.......
He was able to dominate from the outside and the inside( which probably will shock alot of people)
Theres been alot of talk that Ward has'nt got the reputation that Mayweather and De La Hoya did after they won an olympic gold and tbh if this doesnt do it nothing will because it really was a supreme performance.
He will probably go up in the P2P rankings........
It wouldnt suprise me if he will be considered the poster boy of boxing after Mayweather and Pacquaio.
If people did'nt know before this performance shows why he is called " Son of God"

Re: Boxing thread
Clear cut win, the two 115-113´s were very generous towards Froch..wasnt ever that close.
Anyway, too skilled and too mobile for Froch and when inside did an expert job of tying up. Doesnt have great power, never hurt Froch, but when you are hiting and not getting hit like that your a star.
