Don alfredo would have won that for more than 5 years straight...more than any one.

Also alfredo would have won all best defender,best midfielder,best striker award by himself in the same year since he is by far the best total footballer upto date. :bow:

He was a ball hungry maniac though,he would even drop deep to CBs area and steal ball from his own team.. Smile

He actually had 5 straight season before Juve where he scored over 30+ goals as CAM... he was already the best player in Europe for 2-3 years. Just played for a small club (St Etienne), who actually did very well in Champion's League with him there.

Ballon d'Or is all about playing for a big club. Nothing to do with being the best player.

To be fair, the best football by far was being played in South America when Di Stefano was at Real Madrid. It would be like saying that Neymar is the best in the world today...

Definitely have to agree with the award going to big team players. Platini was amazing he played alongside Boniek at juventus I remember my dad talking about it a lot! I was just saying that he kind of doesn't want to give up his record.
