Was that Messi's last Ballon D'or?
With Messi slowly aging and Neymar improving by the second, will this be the last time Messi wins the Ballon D'or?

Another Barca player won't win it until he retires/ages to the point where he's no longer effective, he'll always get the credit rightly or wrongly.
So no.

He's still the best player atm. He's slowly getting back to form so I do think that if he wins the next copa for instance he'll be the favorite again ( assuming that Cr or any other serious contender wins the Euro ).

Not sure where the ageing part comes from either.
He was the best player in the world by a mile last season and was this year until Injury and scored a hatrick at the weekend
Some have short memories.

Judging by his start to 2016, no.

He'll win the next 2 at least. The only way he doesn't is if Cristiano is turning it around for one last stand.

He's only 28 but he plays like he's much older. Less willing to take on players, move off the ball, etc. He's still the best player in the world but at this rate I can see Neymar overtaking him next season. And if he also outscores him this season (likely because of the injury) and wins the Copa I could see him taking it. Inertia is a powerful thing when it comes to popular opinion so it could take a few more years, but its certainly a possibility IMO.

He doesn't need to though, he hasn't taken people on consistently for about 5 years. It means nothing to his overall effectiveness and ability to be the best.

Bale will win this year. Top form, plays for the hype machine RM and is British.

i mean he took on the entire Bilbao team in the final of la Copa and took on Bayern/Neur just in the semis last season, at 28. So I don't get where this he is less willing thing comes from, he just plays farther away from goal so he has to take on more people than when he played as false 9.
If anything he has been walking around when he doesnt have the ball, but he's been doing that for like 3-4 seasons now and he still finds a way to be the best player on the pitch by a country mile, and is ridiculous consistent over a seasons span.

Bale got this on lock when he becomes the new face of Madrid when Ronaldo gets sold to PSG (:

I can't see him not winning it, tbh.
He'll take another 2-3 before Nerman takes over.

Seems a bit strange ppl ruling out CRonaldo altogether? Hes just 30 I think and still in top condition and doing it for Real consistently. As much as I dont like him, hes still just behind Messi at the moment. If MEssi and him can keep up there physical conditions to stay at their level, then its still between them two next year, simply cos they still are the best two players around.

neymar is not winning any golden ball until
1) he changes club and becomes THE guy
2) Messi leaves barca and he is THE guy
3) he wins the world cup
good luck with all 3

nah, all neymar has to do is be a better player
score more goals, and outshine messi in the finals or big games they play together

It's stranger that people rule out Messi. He's 28.

So, the best dribler in the world doesn't take on players consistently?

It wasn't, i don't think Madrid can win CL this season and the others who can stand against him are on his team and doesn't have the same reputation than he does.

When he wants to be sure, but how often does he actually do that? he's a lot more selective with his runs nowadays which is what i meant.
He more often will put Neymar or Suarez in or pass around the opposition than dribble right through the heart of them now. The goals like where ripped Boateng a new asshole are not as frequent as they used to be.
