Is Iniesta already an all-time great?

Always shone in all those finals...

is he an all time great already or does he need to prove more ?

He's been elite for like 3 years.... Sooooo for me no

In 20 years nobody will remember his teammates overshadowed him against mid-table La Liga squads, they'll remember that when the important games came rolling around, nobody did it bigger than Iniesta.

So, yes.

Sadly i don't think he'll go down as an all time great individually for all his achievements to date. The thing is, the Barcelona collective is so strong he will be remembered as part of the group only i think.

It is a shame, he is a WC talent.

Na, Only people who understand the game, Everyone else will just say messi or ronaldo. Just like now, normal people just spit pele is the best in everyones facewithout even watching him play or see how good his teammates were.

just amongst barca he will always be third best.

I really think he is the most talented player in Barca ( in terms of fitting the style of their play). His first touch and ball-control are better than any one else that I have seen.

This is a not an argument I often like using, but for me in Barca and Spain, he is in his comfort zone therefore adapts well. I am not sure how well he can adapt to a different style of play. I am not saying he will do badly, because a player of his calibre can be amazing in any team. But I would absolutely love it if in a few years he can move to a different team, and help them achieve success too. I am sure he is capable of it, but a "question mark" is always going to be present in my head whether he can be this good in other teams too.

It is not the most perfect argument, but it is how i feel about iniesta.

Longevity matters for an all time great IMO.

Overrated by barca standards, not the same level of xavi..

No team has been built around iniesta unlike the other all time greats,also he rarely gets marked due to messi and xavi.

As good as he is I just don't seem him being mentioned alongside the all time greats.

In Spain yes. However the day Iniesta retires not much will really be said and it might be on the front cover of El Mundo Deportivo or Sport.

Great player but unfortunately isn't really the type that will be remembered immediately.

I can't remember the last time I mentioned Ozil on these forums. But yeah ... Let's make this into another Barca player > Madrid player and vice versa.

Overall great I'm doubt it, although he is one hell of a player.

He is zidane of this new era. But he is under shadow of messi (as zidane would be)

If i had a choice btw Iniesta and Xavi i would take Iniesta any day.

It would be great travesty if he isnt remembered alongside the likes of Xavi and Zidane when he hangs up his boot.

Fantastic player. Really amazing what he can do, but better players have been overlooked when it comes to naming all-time greats.

For Spain and Barcelona, this should be unquestionable however.
