Also, I'm beginning to find myself getting increasingly annoyed at people bashing/disparaging our players in 1 line posts and the like... this isn't an Admin thing, it's a Liverpool supporter thing.

BTW, was it really necessary to play Agger in LB (with Aurelio fit)!!!

Agger had a good game there. He's pretty good with the ball (for a defender at least) and liked to look for attacking options whenever involved in a play, I liked him in LB, I think it's been a while since he has played there, too.

So finally u are coming around to my view on Carra

I still love Carra, and despite his lack of pace he's still by far our best leader in defense and organiser of the backline. Until we find a player who is A) consistent, B) fit, and C) experienced I don't expect to see Carra drop to a squad role.

my feelings exactly, this is where Agger fits in, apart from the fitness (his consistency could also fall under that).

maybe get a young defender who we know would hold the defence well and also gain match experience with a top class team., perhaps Mats Hummels of Dortmund?

I'd love Hummels, but I sincerely doubt we would be able to tempt him. If/when he leaves Dortmund he will be spoiled for choice. We will need CL footy and potentially a title challenge to be on his radar.

While there is a question-mark over his fitness record, Agger is a consistant performer and might be trusted to lead the back-line. When he isn't fit, Carragher can take his place.

It's my openion, but I believe Agger & Skrtel is our best CB option.

I dont think we atm have the pulling power to attract Hummels.Even then i very much doubt BVB will sell him in january regardless of their progress in CL.

I think he is most likely to end up at Bayern next season.If we really want a CB we should go for Howedes before he comes into the limelight in next Euros.Bundensliga has plenty of quality players going unnoticed.

Howedes has everything that Red said.Consistent Fit and Experienced.More importantly he is an excellent leader of the defence would slot in nicely in place of Carra.
