The agent of Gabriel Torje has confirmed the interest of Arsenal in the Romanian.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is having chief scout Steve Rowley watch Torje this season.

"Yes, it is true, Arsenal like him," his agent told Calciomercato.com.

"Nothing official, I'll say that there have been no talks, because when the player does not want to move ...

"In January, there are no chances that he'll move. For June we will see ... However it is clear that the player is fine in Udine."

Lukas Podolski is considering his future at FC Cologne.

The Germany striker is being tracked by Arsenal and Tottenham.

"I was told the plan was to get back into Europe here, but we have failed and of course I have to ask myself why," he said.

"Whenever I am with the national team, I always notice people shaking their heads when yet another story emerges from Cologne which has nothing to do with sport.

"My family and friends may live here and I know every corner of the city, but if I am in top condition, then I think I could fit into any side in Europe.

"I am not forced to stay only in Cologne."

I really believe he is coming to Arsenal.

Mertesacker needs to make this happen.

I hear Gabriel Torje is quite the talent, with excellent dribbling skills. £20mil is just Udinese trying to scare off potential buyers.

He is 5'5 though

Espanyol are interested in Arsenal striker Marouane Chamakh.

AS says Espanyol want to buy a new striker in January and have drawn up a shortlist of names, which includes Morocco international Chamakh.

The former Bordeaux man is also a £10 million target for PSG.
