Re: Latest Arsenal Rumours
im sorry but if you can get a mercurial talent i.e. gotze you have to forget about players like ramsey for the time being. that's what separates teams like madrid/bayern from the rest. when you have depth like that, it is good thing. you need to get those guys if available and willing. especially if they're versatile and can play in 2-3 different spots. we need to have the problem of too many good players instead of too many mediocre unreliable guys.

I wouldn't mind Reus, i've seen him - very very clever player + versatile how Wenger likes
I see us going for Reus instead of Goetze, or any other over-hyped player.

Ramsey IS a mercurial talent. Some people, myself included at some point, preferred him to Wilshere. What more does the lad have to do? He got an injury - that can happen to anyone - and now he is back and continuing his development.
Not to mention, so many people here haven't even watched Gotze play live, but are only so supportive of getting him because of all the hype. Need I remind you, Marin got similar hype and look at how he's turning out.
Honestly, forget about Goetze. The future is right here at Arsenal, and our fans are just ignoring that. Ramsey is only 20 ffs.

Re: Latest Arsenal Rumours
Goetze's natural role is on the left wing, actually. He can also play right wing, but people hype him for his central playmaker role. He's just as good on the wings.
Reus would be awesome and of course come cheaper, because we need depth on the wings. He can also play on both wings. Any of both would come fine. Personally. I'd love Goetze because of his immense talent and extreme versatility, but Reus or Schurlle would be more than good enough for what we're looking for.
I definitely agree with the guys who said we need more German players rather than French ones. Wenger speaks German, we have Merts and just need a couple more.
French dudes are lazy and drink wine. German players are hardworking and machines. Or something like that

Germans drink beer. Beer is more a man's drink. Wine is for women.

Re: Latest Arsenal Rumours
Well as far as top talent goes, Germany is currently producing more than a lot of other countries, along with Spain and, as usual, Brazil. I mean, just in attacking midfield/winger alone there's (forgive me for incorrent grammar here): Ozil, Muller, Gotze, Shurlle, Reus, Draxler and, to some extent I guess, Marin.

Re: Latest Arsenal Rumours
Draxler is too young. We have AOC as an upcoming talent and that's enough.
Schurlle or Reus could walk into the starting team or at least rotate easily in our starting 11. They're also the only possible buys, unless Madrid goes nuts and wants to sell Oezil.

Re: Latest Arsenal Rumours
loool now ive heard it all...
English Premier League heavyweights, Arsenal, are being linked to Italian Serie A club AC Milan's Brazilian targetman, Alexandre Pato. Pato, who could make the move to London in January, is believed to be looking to move on from the San Siro.

If the rumors are true, the Gunners could be willing to break the club's transfer fee record and present a bid of £35 million to the Italian club, for the services of the Brazilian. The Gunners are, reportedly, on the lookout for attacking options to support the club's current striker, Dutchman Robin van Persie. Injury concerns are another reason why depending on just one striker may not be a good idea.
Although Arsenal do have a number of strikers on their books, Morocan Marouane Chamakh has not yet got a foothold on the Premiership way of life and it is still early days for Korean Park Chu-Young. Dane Nicklas Bendtner and Mexican Carlos Vela are already out on loans.

DM backup would be who, Coquelin? Wouldn't mind it, as least we don't waste one sitting on the bench.

Re: Latest Arsenal Rumours
According to reports in the Daily Mail, Arsenal scouts were once again present at the Westfalenstadion to watch the attacking midfielder score a brace to help Dortmund to a 5-1 thrashing of Wolfsburg last Saturday.
Considered to be an up-and-coming, potential world class player, his speed, technical skill and creativity has attracted interest from North London, but the Bundesliga side are not keen to part with their prized asset.
In an attempt to frighten off Arsenal, who have historically been reluctant to spend heavily on individual stars, Dortmund have raised their valuation of the player to £20million.
The player himself said after the game: "I am really happy here. That is all that counts."
However, much could also depend on how the two sides do in the Champions League this season.
The Gunners are leading Group F on 8 points, and look favourites to qualify for the knockout stages for yet again, while Dortmund are languishing at third place with four points, which could influence Gotze's decision, should the Bundesliga side fail to qualify for Europe at the end of this season.

20 million is a raised evaluation? Weren't we contemplating 35 jst this summer? 20 mil is a steal for Godze.

I really believe if we had offered them 35 mill they would have sold him. We only offer Mata around 13 mill no way we would have offered more for Gotze.
20 million is a steal and I hope Wenger breaks the bank and signs him.

Re: Latest Arsenal Rumours
Manchester United Youngster Could Leave Old Trafford for Arsenal
rench teenager Paul Pogba is allegedly stalling on contract negotiations with his current employers Manchester United and has been linked today with a move to Arsenal.
According to a report on goal.com, the 18 year-old midfielder has also been subject to interest from Serie A giants AC and Inter Milan, both of whom could offer the player a significant pay rise.
Having signed Pogba from Le Havre back in 2009, Sir Alex Ferguson is clearly a big fan of the France under-19 international.
In fact, this season Pogba was handed his club debut in the Carling Cup and was also given a place on the substitutes’ bench for the Champions League clash with Otelul Galati last week.
Out of contract in the summer, he would be able to talk to foreign clubs from January, though if he was to decide his future lies away from the club, United would be due compensation under the Bosman Ruling as the player is under 23.
