Genoa confirm 'international swoop'
President Enrico Preziosi said Genoa have signed “an overseas international who will be announced on Monday.”
The patron is known for achieving some surprising swoops on the transfer market and hints he has got another headline-grabbing deal.
“We have got a new player,” declared Preziosi on Radio Radio. “He is an overseas international, as in Italy the prices are too high.
“He will be announced on Monday. I completed the signing after an eight-hour negotiation.”
Reports suggest several options, including Saint-Etienne star Blaise Matuidi, Toulouse midfielder Moussa Sissoko and Steven Defour of Standard Liege.

Re: Genoa confirm 'international swoop'
I wouldn't underestimate Genoa's spending power...they may decide to drop some cash on one of those guys....
What would that mean for Miguel Veloso though? He plays the same position as them....hasn't really impressed at all either...

Toulouse midfielder Moussa Sissoko and Steven Defour of Standard Liege.
Wow if it is either of those two.
Re: Genoa confirm 'international swoop'
Moussa Sissoko is the best out of those three, but it's most probably Matuidi.

Re: Genoa confirm 'international swoop'
my guess would be steven defour. although i think that he was very, very average since his initial ''rise to fame'' i wouldnt be surprised if standard let him go on the cheap.
as for matuidi and sissoko, genoa are filled with players in that position and have already bought another dm, so it really would make no sense...

Re: Genoa confirm 'international swoop'
I haven't seen Defour play much for Liege, but he's looked pretty decent for Belgium. Not spectacular mind you, but quite good. He'd still be a calculated risk for Genoa.
I've seen a bit more of Sissoko and Matuidi and both miles better than Veloso right now. They'd both be a definite step up for Genoa's languishing midfield.
