Juventus confirm Elia swoop
Eljero Elia is officially a Juventus player after he completed his transfer from German club Hamburg.
The Turin outfit have agreed to pay the Bundesliga side a fee of €9m for the Dutch international midfielder.
That amount will be paid in three instalments – €4m immediately, €2.5m on 31 January 2012 and €2.5m on 31 January 2013.
The transfer fee may increase by a further €1m should certain bonus clauses be activated.
Elia himself has signed a four-year contract with the Turin giants.

7 goals, 10 assists in 52 Bundesliga games. Not horrible, not good either.
Still, it's a fresh start for him and he might fit better at Juve.

haha angry nobody is sad about him leaving? he has been horrible for hamburg pretty much the whole time except the first 2-3 months. 10 million euro of dead capital and he hasn't raised any demands to leave. no-one ever forced him to stay, "plain and simple" - as we can't afford to throw so much money out of the window.
you can keep telling yourself that he is now over the moon, being at his dream club juve, which he'll prolly say in interviews as he did concerning hsv as well. or you can see him for the delusional retard he is who wants to end up at barca/real and never will. you're just another stepping stone for him in his big masterplan.
have fun with his speed and tricks but don't expect effectiveness.

Bundesliga outfit Hamburg eventually won the race for his signature, paying €9 million for his services. He had a superb start to life in Germany, wowing the public with a number of breathtaking performances in Germany. He picked up an injury halfway through the season, though, and was unable to impress after the winter break due to physical problems.
This didn't stop him from shining for Netherlands' national side and he was deservedly included in the squad for the 2010 World Cup. Elia's pace and trickery proved to be an important weapon for the Dutch in South Africa and, despite the fact that he was allowed relatively little playing time, he shone as his nation reached the final.
However, things have only gone downhill since. He failed to secure regular first team action at HSV under head coach Armin Veh in 2010-11, and was involved in a number of minor run-ins with the tactician. Elia repeatedly voiced his desire to leave and has now finally been given his desired transfer.

Re: Juventus confirm Elia swoop
that's a great subjective article and obviously nobody is happy when he's on the bench but that was entirely his fault as he played like a clown. he just said earlier in the week to frank arnesen that he'd have no problem with staying but also the club wants to cash in on him.
but if the thought of him being imprisoned in hamburg for the last few years makes you sleep well then so be it. in the hsv fanbase EVERYBODY is glad he's gone as we got the same kind of cash we paid for him and we found a more than capable replacement for him, who has already showed in bundesliga that he's a more effective player. you are happy that you got him so it's a win-win situation or am i wrong? he's got a shitload of talent but he's an unprofessional prick. if he works for you then congratz

well often, but not all the time. u couldn't see a difference between him and some random youth academy kids who just joined the first team.
