A dozen threads about the officiating in Serie A yesterday, but nothing about this piece of blatant robbery earlier today, so allow me....

why wasnt VDV booked for going into the crowd ?

? I am a sympathizer of Arsenal and I thought it was pretty obvious that he played with his chest. Sure he outstretched the arm like an idiot, and very likely intended to play with it as well, but from three different angles it seemed it was clearly all on the chest.

If anything, Arsenal has only itself to blame, dominated the game and still lost through 2 goals virtually out of nothing.

It wasn't a red; I doubt he meant to do it.

Still, he never could have controlled that ball if it weren't for his arm. It was a handball, and he was lucky not to get in trouble for the celebration.

Try blaming your keeper instead of the ref. Unacceptable mistake on his part, you needed points from that game and you played well enough to pick em up on the road.

You do realize that, had it not been for Szczesny, the score could've been 3-1 or even 4-1?

Dude at 1-1 your keeper didn't handle a routine shot from over 30 yards out and cost you the game. I hope he saved some other shots today to try and make up for that monumental screw up.

The hand ball is nowhere near as clear cut as the keeping error.

I don't understand why you guys would shout to the heavens about Almunia but when it comes to szczesny you wont blame him for obvious mistakes.

It was 1-1 you were back in the game and playing very well and that mistake cost you the game. IMO if that didn't happen they were not going to score. The outcome would have been at worst a tie for you at best a win if it wasn't for your keeper. Plain and simple.

Why are you talking about the 1-1 when i'm talking about the 1-0? What does Szczesny have to do with them scoring an illiegal goal?

On another note,Lex only gets serious when he feels his team was wronged...Or attacked by trolls

Because the hand ball was iffy and you can't expect to get that call all the time. IMO he did help the ball with his arm but most of it was on his chest and if the ref wasn't in the right position it would be easy to miss. Some refs wouldn't call it even if they were in the right position, and some posters think there was nothing wrong with it as well.

Your team didn't dwell on it and got back in the game and then your keeper lost it for you on a CLEAR CUT mistake that shouldn't happen. That's why it's more important.

No one want's to hear people blame the ref especially when he wasn't that bad compared to other mistakes that were made this weekend. If you need 100% officiating to win then your in trouble. In the end the ref's mistakes even out, not your keepers.

And if I can't tell from watching the gif over and over and over at home on my computer, its hard to blame the ref for missing it in a split-second mid game - thats just my .02

Agree about the horrible call. That was obviously handled.

However The Arsenal comedy hour starring Arsenal's Back line and featuring Aaron Ramsy is why Arsenal lost IMO.

Tbf, it was hard for the ref to see that it was a handball although the linesma shoulda seen it.

And what really cost us today was our abysmal defending. Nobody can deny it. I don't give a s*** if the ref gave the right call and it ended 1-1 today, if it means that after the next match were gonna have to revisit a controversial decision like an offside goal because we were too crap to defend the goal in the first place. We ain't gonna win jack this season or next season, or seasons to come if we don't sort out this defending issue. And that's the truth.

C'mon now, the ref is only human, how is he supposed to spot an infraction as subtle as that?
