Nani is just a few ounces away from becoming a dynamo. He'll never bag the quantity of goals Ronaldo does though

I'll take Pedro over Nani and can give you any kind of numbers to back it up or big game performances. Pretty much any kind of measurable you want.

And don't give me that he plays for Barcelona blah blah blah Manchester United have been the first or second best team in the world for Nani's whole career there.

Other people put up huge numbers there just not him.

People us the strength of team argument which ever way they want, they will say Man U has been awesome when comparing teams and then when talking about Nani they will say they are some red headed step child.

Ashley's much better than Nani.

Young isn't in the same planet as Nani.

He got 1 goal from open play the entire last season

Lets see: CR, Messi (if playin winger), Robben, Ribery, Etoo (his year as winger under Mou), Silva, Valencia (on form and if he returns it) are more preferable.

Plus, who knows what Mata and Gervinho might do affraid

Sigh........ Nani will score less than 20 goals this season.

Will probably also get dropped at some point during the season.

The reality is Nani isn't even the best player on his team or the best player in the league. He is 1 year younger than CR7 and a few months older than Messi and CR7 and Messi don't look like slowing down soon so it won't be easy for him. Maybe he will or maybe he wouldn't I personally don't think he will unless CR7 or Messi declines.

Nani - Page 3 Empty Re: Nani

Post by Dnmac4 Sun Sep 25, 2011 11:57 pm

I posted this in the other similar thread and will put it here as well. to sum it up, no. Nani does not come through in big games.

Listen people, I am the last person to want to defend Ronaldo, but if you are comaping Nani to Ronaldo you're crazy.

Don't forget that Nani is a total no show in the Champions league. Last year was his best to date and he played 9 champions league games and had 1 goal and 0 assists. If Ronaldo did that you would kill him.

His best ever return is 13 goals and 17 assists in 50 games, which is very good for a winger, but nowhere near Ronaldo when he played in a VERY SIMILAR positioon for Man U. Again if Ronaldo did that you would call him a total flop.

Now, for Ronaldo's numbers while playing in the same position in the same system on the same team in his best year.

48 games started with 43 goals and 8 assists.

In that year the Champions league, 13 games started with 9 goals and 1 assist.

Just to compare, in Nani's career with Manchester United who notoriously get easy draws in the Champions League Nani has started 31 games with 3 goals and 6 assists in 4 years. That is pathetic.

I don't even need to put up Ronaldo's or Messi's. Nani is not a big game player and until he starts to do it on the big stage people comparing him to Ronaldo really need to chill out.

I really hate the knee jerk reactions on this site, you make yourselves look so stupid.

Nani is so great a player and close to Ronaldo that Ferguson dropped him for the all important CL final vs Barca?

I suppose Ferguson too is just dump not to see how great Nani is unlike United fans.

Valencia was in much better form towards the second half of last season and leading up to the CL final. Nani's form dipped after that animal Carragher nearly broke his leg.

Cuts like these are common in football and result only 2-3 recovery with a stitch.

Ya his leg was nearly broken that he ran half the length of the pitch chasing referees seconds after that tackle  Oh also so broken his leg that he recovered is 2 weeks too.Must be some tackle then.

U know if he was such a great player Ferguson would have played him ahead of Valencia and or atleast Giggs or Park even if he is out of form for the biggest game of the season.Did u see Barca dropping Villa for the CL final just because he was out of form?

But then I suppose Ferguson too is just dump not to see how great Nani is unlike United fans.

KSA,

I only was disputing your point on how Carra's tackle actually effected Nani and his form as you must admit 1-2 weeks isn't a great loss as his form was just as good afterwards.

You mean the tackle? I 100% agree as it was the most daft tackle I have seen from Carra as despite no malice being involved, it was a disgraceful tackle as I was embarrassed to admit this.

Lets thank god anything worse didn't happen.
