Remaining options
I'm restarting this thread.
Background - Mou made a statement a couple of days ago that he was going to go with a 23 (or possibly 24)man roster for this year. Note- they are going with just 2 porteros this year leaving Mejias and Jesus on Castilla (they will practice and be called up for odd game.
With the expected deals for Coentrao, Aquero (and Benzema sold) and Adebayor to be completed soon and with the sale / loans of Garay, Gago, Lass, Leon, Drenthe, Mateos and Canales, the roster is at 22. There is debate as to whether Kaka will stay or be sold.
Question is who / what position is the 22nd (if kaka is sold), 23rd and 24th players?
My thoughts are the 24th is Morata if he makes team (personally I think he will be off in Getafe than sitting on bench as 4th striker). 23rd is a new DM (Bruno is on my wish list, Essien is a name that has been mentioned.
And for 22nd, I don't have any idea. I do think it is best if kaka goes, but I don't see a replacement except in a low possibility Cesc.

Re: Remaining options
How is the Lass situation? Rumors about Aguero deal are quite for the moment. Coentrao on the other hand is almost set to join according to reports.

Re Lass - article today in marca about selling players said lass was on the list (to sell) because he won't sign new offer.

Re: Remaining options
Marca is very dodgy these days Bill. Does Madrid put out an official list that is publicly available?

Yeah I know, but this article was what was generally assumed (it also came with what price tags they had on the "undesirables". and for kaka they did say that was a big maybe.)
Madrid never puts anything out until it's offical. They don't like to fuel speculation. Actually that's a big change this year. Normally everyone knows who we want and what we are up to, so price keeps going up. This year, it's a big guessing game. Smart strategy actually. I just hope they read this forum for our input!!

Re: Remaining options
I never understood why you'd show your cards anyhow.
Btw, i'm sure if someone was willing to take on Kaka's wages, he'd be gone. With financial fair play, there aren't many clubs that can afford him.... maybe none actually.

Kaka will have to reduce his wages if he goes somewhere else.

Re: Remaining options
Kaka will stay for the simple reason that no club is stupid enough to sign him on current wages...

Re: Remaining options
I've read some where in this forum that now Lass may stay and we're all hearing repeated stories that Kaka also may stay since noone will pay a decent transfer price nor his salary expectation.
That being the case, our line-up would be at 23 again assuming Coentrao and Aquero deals go thru (plus the sell offs and Ade signing).
That just may be the end of off season deals!!!!
My conclusion is line-up is better than last year due to Sahin and stronger back-ups, but I am concerned about the left foot at RB experiment and I feel Kaka remaining may be a detriment. His salary means he plays and this will put either Ozil, Di maria, Sahin or 2nd striker on bench.
Meanwhile the opposition (Barca) is signing Alexis Sanchez (instead of Rossi) replacing Boyan and likely Jefferen as well. Cesc is still likely to come which gives them some conflict with Thiago, but he likely will say making their MF really deep. Conclusion is they are stronger (deeper) but they have a weakness at CB that isn't being addressed. Looks like they will go with only young Fontas as back-up and rely on Albial, Mash or Busquets as emergency reserves.

It was reported today that an agreement was reached. They are debating whether or not Boyan and Jefferen are part of deal.

Re: Remaining options
Rossi is cleaner in his game, more intelligent as well, he is better. I have no idea what barcelona is doing trying to sign Sanchez, they are shooting themselves in the foot.

Re: Remaining options
I dont think they will sign Sanchez regardless, the reports coming out are dubious at best.
The main conflict seems to be between Rossi and Neymar. Pep wants Rossi and Rosell wants Neymar.

Re: Remaining options
I think that the Sanchez rumours are stronger than that, from what I've seen UD have confirmed that personal terms have been agreed upon. Sanchez makes more sense for Barca IF Messi insists on playing centrally. Rossi would not be as effective coming from out wide imho...
