EPL players remaining in Euro 2012
Very interesting post I read in another forum:
Discussing the four Euro 2012 semifinalists-
"How many (best league in the world) Premier League players are there in their starting XIs?
Four. (Nani, Meireles, Silva, Balotelli). 4 out of 44.
Extend it to the squads, with Mertesacker, Mata, Torres and Reina, and it's 8, out of 96."

That's kind of a rubbish fact considering England are out of semis.
Count how much Serie A has outside their national team and La Liga as well and then that number might mean something.Probably the opposite of the context mentioned in.

This was an Englishman posting on an English newspaper comment forum. His point was that if the EPL had all the world's (and Europe's) best players, by far, the best national teams in Europe would have a great number of EPL players starting for them. This is clearly not the case. Spain have 1, Italy have 1, Portugal have 2 and Germany have none.
