City vs United: Which one is more loaded in attack?
City have spent no small a fortune on their strikers and a lot is made of their choices up front and how they have to sit on the bench quite a bit, some of them anyway.
But what about United, then? Here's a comparison:
Aguero - Rooney: I think we can call this 50-50 at this point.
Tevez - Berbatov: Shared the goal-scoring title in the BPL last season and now both in the same situation: considered 3rd choice striker or worse.
Dzeko - Welbeck: Both have had a strong start in their respective teams this season.
Balotelli - Owen: Both seem far away from starting any important games. But check this out, I read that Michael Owen has now scored 11 goals in his last 12 starts for United. And he is 4th choice. Wow.
And well, City still technically have Santa Cruz and Adebayor as both are only out on a season-long loans.
But if you look at the strikers in these both teams, which one do you consider to be more loaded when it comes to options up front? And do you find it annoying that both teams effectively have got two exciting strikers going a bit waste when they could be lighting it up at some other club?

If city played their 1-1-8 they would win no doubt, any less than this in attack and united wins, you didn't even mention Chicharito.

You have to consider Young/Nani a part of Uniteds attack IMO

Re: City vs United: Which one is more loaded in attack?
Aguero = Rooney (atm, any other day Aguero wins)
Dzeko > Berbatov
Balotelli > Welbeck
Tevez > Chicharido
Adebayor > Owen
Santa Cruz > Macheda
Dzeko > Berbatov
Balotelli > Welbeck
Tevez > Chicharido
Adebayor > Owen
Santa Cruz > Macheda

Dzeko, Nasri, Aguero & Silva or Hernandez, Rooney, Young & Nani?
Could go either way to be honest.

What does that even mean, individually they are better? Nani is better than NAsri, Rooney is better than all their attackers. ANd we have more goals than them as well, and we beat them? SO what is the cause of this? I can't for the life of me understand. Last season we reached the CL final and ppl said that it was Uniteds mentality. wtf does that mean. Football is not a sport where you do tricks and score points. It's a team sport ffs. We have more goals than city and have faced tougher opposition so of course our attack is better. What a joke.

Re: City vs United: Which one is more loaded in attack?
alright lets play this little game..
Rooney > Aguero
Berba > Dzeko
Nani > Nasri
Silva > Young
Park > Milner
Hernandez > Balotelli
Valencia > Johnson
Albert the kit man > Monkey man
3 games doesnt elevate Dzeko, Nasri was mocked for only having 3 outstanding months
Monkey man himself didnt stand out for us
City are FM names grouped together, they will fail and Mancini will get the blame
Rooney > Aguero
Berba > Dzeko

Real Madrid buy superstars for years but they havent won any major trophy lately.
Do you honestly believe that Man Utd are better individually than Man City?
No, but they are better as a team ffs.

just because they were bought for lots of money doesnt make them superstars ffs
their best striker was our 4th choice, nasri had 3 good months in his arsenal career
balotelli is a myth
paying at man city prices doesnt make them superstars kid

What do you mean better individually? Elaborate?
Rooney IS better than Aguero, has scored more goals and has won more.
Nani is better than NAsri who has only had 3 good months in his whole career. Nani has more goals and last season had more assits so how is nasri better?
Tevez: The guy was on our bench, nuff said.
Balotelli better than who? What has he done for city exactly? In his first few games young has done more in his career than Balotelli has in his.
Dzeko better than hernandez? Forgive me but did they not play in the same league last season?: Did hernandez not do more than dzeko? Was dzeko not called a flop at one point? Get a grip mate.
Silva is the only one in that team that can walk into our starting 11.

Aguero would displace Hernandez or Berbatov easilyjibers wrote:highburied wrote:Real Madrid buy superstars for years but they havent won any major trophy lately.

I acn't stand this whole individually and mentality crap. It's a joke. People can't ever give our team it's dues. There's always some excuse. Your a one man team. Ronaldo leaves, we win the league. the league wasn't competitive. we reach the cl final. it was our mentality. People need to get a grip. Strong mentality doesnt get you a cl and get you to a 3rd cl final in 4 years. City have doen sod all and they have the best attack in the prem?

Berbatov is on our bench so let's hope so. Actuall out of our starting attackers aguero is the only one that would bench any of them. Silva wouldnt fit itno our attack or wings.

I would take the attack of Man Utd over that of City's anyday
The only one I really rate out of the attack at Man City is Aguero tbh

Nasri Silva
Tevez Dzeko Aguero
Only Barcelona (with Messi) may have a better attacking line.

Re: City vs United: Which one is more loaded in attack?
This is a really hard question to answer and I support City so I am probably somewhat biased.
The biggest factor is Rooney. The thing that no one talks about is he is somewhat like Messi nowadays and really doesn't have a defined position anymore. HE floats all over the place and in certain games he creates and others he finishes and most of the time he does both.
Since the second half of last year until now I don't think he gets the credit for how much his games has changed for the better. He used to be an out and out English style striker but he is so much more now and drives United.
So it's hard to compare because I think if Aguero were to be hurt for a month they could throw Tevez in and be OK. On the other hand United cannot replace what Rooney does for them so right now I would have to have Rooney over Aguero and it really pains me to say it.
As far as depth it's not close City wins there as Dzeko is better then Berba and Tevez is better then Chicharito NOW maybe not in a year or two.
And Silva is the best attacking midfielder in the EPL so he is better then Nani. I'm not a huge Nasri fan so I'd take Ashley Young over him.
Numbers and depth wise City is better but with Rooney playing at the level he is right now I guess you have to take United.
