Re: Toni Kroos vs Mario Gotze
When it comes tk young German attackers, theres no one that can hold a candle to Ozil right now. 2nd comes Marin, and then Muller and Goetze. Kroos has alot of potential and did really well in leverkusen but has yet to really bring out his potentialsofar since then. Id say other than the 4 mentioned above, id say possubly holtby and reus are also above Kroos. Shurrlle is overrated inmy opinion. Poldi still is better than any of them except ozil. Ozil-Poldi is close imo.

Re: Toni Kroos vs Mario Gotze
clearly goetze for me. he will have an outstanding career if he stays focussed on football. with 18 years of age, where goetze was already ripping apart teams in the bundesliga like he wants to, oezil was still kickin arround in third league with the schalke reserves.

Re: Toni Kroos vs Mario Gotze
Yh Gotze for me aswell, but iam slightly bias because Gotze is exactly the type of player i enjoy watching above all else.
Kroos is a quality player though with an extremely bright future.

Marko Marin over Thomas Müller, Mario Götze, Marco Reus, André Schürrle...juventus101 wrote:When it comes tk young German attackers, theres no one that can hold a candle to Ozil right now. 2nd comes Marin, and then Muller and Goetze. I don't hold the same opinion.

Re: Toni Kroos vs Mario Gotze
yea kroos is still great but he himself prolly didn't expect so many other good kids to come around the corner as he was already hyped as germany's football messiah at the age of 16.
goetze was also known to experts etc. but not to the broad public until he stepped onto the scene. not playing for bayern helps in that kinda sense...

Re: Toni Kroos vs Mario Gotze
Gotze has more potential, and if he can avoid injuries and maybe grow and bulk up a little can be a real beast.
Kroos will shine this year, Heynckes knows his strengths and we will see a lot of him. Might even bench Mueller.
Right now: For playmaking Godze is better, but for goal scoring and set pieces Kroos is. He's also better physically.

Re: Toni Kroos vs Mario Gotze
I just wish Kroos was taller, could've been the next Ballack.
Götze gets my vote, though, he's just doing more, earlier. And probably has more potential. But Kroos is REALLY great and also hugely underrated, he'll shine under Heynckes this season, I reckon. He'll be played as LM and CAM a lot, which really suits him. While he is a good DM, he just lacks the defensive aspect of the game, especially when paired with Schweinsteiger they both just don't defend aggressively enough.
Kroos' set pieces are boss, though, and that shouldn't be overlooked. It's really tough to decide, but in the end... Götzes breakthrough-season was just too insane to not give him the vote.
Close, but Götze edges it for me.

Wha? Kroos and Müller are nothing alike, Müller's a striker, Kroos just isn't.

say who? Muller used to play as a winger/striker but of late since last season with FC Bayern even vs AC Milan in the audi cup,he now plays as a winger/attacking midfielder.

Re: Toni Kroos vs Mario Gotze
He's always played SS. In the NT, he has to play out wider to accomodate Oezil, but he's pretty much a very attack oriented AM. He does have great workrate not seen in many strikers, and that's why you sometimes confuse him with a midfielder, but in technical abilities (dribbling and technique) he is definitely lacking.
Kroos on the other hand can play as a CM without much problems, except for his defensive abilities which aren't up to par. His best position is AM, of course, handing out passes and letting those cannons which people call legs do their work.
Gotze, Oezil and Kroos are somewhat similar in their role. They're mostly playmakers although they can play out wide. Mueller is a striker who can play out wide.

Re: Toni Kroos vs Mario Gotze
eventho every german waited for such a situation, it is kinda sad that not all of these guys can start together for the national-team.
i'd rather see goetze on the flanks than kroos tho. he did that quite a lot at dortmund too with kagawa in the middle.

The best way Germany can play, in my opinion, is like this:
Muller/Gomez
Podolski Ozil Marin/Gotze

Re: Toni Kroos vs Mario Gotze
yea that would be a good one. my favourite one for the future would be (if marin would finally unleash his potential and become more effective):
Gomez
Marin Oezil Goetze - highly technical, no power - could be dangerous
Gomez
Schuerrle Oezil Reus - endless robben-style shots from the flanks
However, somehow you need Mueller. He's a great player but we don't really have his natural position in the nationalteam (or it's occupied by oezil if you will). With his goofy movement he can score goals out of nowhere.
too many choices really...

Re: Toni Kroos vs Mario Gotze
Just drop Reus for Müller. Reus is great, but just not the calibre of Müller, or Kroos, for that matter.

not necessarily yes, but if he keeps scoring these screamers every second/third game, then there must be something about him.

Re: Toni Kroos vs Mario Gotze
Mueller's work rate is essential to any team. Also, his scoring ability. Reus is pretty good, but isn't ready for that level yet.
Has Marin been so shitty that everyone's forgotten about him? They don't show many Bremen games over here, but last time I saw him against Sampdoria he was ripping it up.

Re: Toni Kroos vs Mario Gotze
yea that was one of those games. but then five rather average games follow where he just does his typical stunts, which always look awesome - but he tends to overdo it. a bit like robinho back in the day.
he's still young, he just needs to find out what works and what doesn't i guess.

Re: Toni Kroos vs Mario Gotze
To be fair to Marin, I still think he doesn't get enough minutes for the NT and Bremen just collapsed around him, you can hardly expect every 21yo to carry a team like Özil did, especially when Marin is more of a flair-heavy winger than a true playmaker. Marin and Özil together were boss.

Gotze will burn out and suddenly stop developing, while Toni Kroos will keep on developing slowly out of the evil eye of the media

He just thinks the things he really supports would always have a happy circumstance, he's such a naive cutesy but he's no bannable poster, just a fanboy optimistic type of supporter. I like him, no homo though
