Yea, Dortmund should have crushed them tonight, they completely outplayed them in every aspect, and Gotze was seriously GOLD tonight, but they just couldnt finish. If he keeps improving, he very well could be the best player in the world very soon.

Re: What a goal by Ivan Perisic
lol at dortmund crushed us comment. Guess we all watched a different match.
out possessed them in the 1st half, changed the tactics in the 2nd half to contain the lead, thats when they started to attack us properly. Then they had to score a great goal to get a point
We should have scored 3 or 4 as well tbf

Re: What a goal by Ivan Perisic
I'm loving our ability to grind out games and the fact that we can actually rely on our defence to get us points.
We were very solid in the 2nd half, and were beaten by a wonder strike.
Koscielny was a monster 2nd half.

Forgot to mention both teams had this awful set pieces thing going on. Not too sure about the crushed or Arsenal should have scored 3 or 4 more parts but t'was an enjoyable match. Was kinda routing for Arsenal to hold on to the lead but very credible draw for them.
Dortmund really need better forwards or better shooting training schemes...

That goal was lucky as hell.
Dortmund deserved to have a proper goal from a beautiful play. Pity. But Dortmund doesn't have a single clinical forward, the best at finishing atm are probably Kagawa and Götze, which is laughable, considering the tactics. They should've bought Klose.

Perisic = Supersub. He frakking scores everytime he's on. Why bench him, Klopp?

Did anyone see Klopp laughing like a maniac the whole game? Even at 87 minutes when they were losing lol

Arsenal outpossessed Dortmund in the first half but did nothing with it other than the goal. And you had a few chances of your own, yea, but Dortmund had wayyyyyyyyy more chances, but their finishing let them down, otherwise it couldve ended really badly for you. Too bad Barrios is out. And you parked the bus in the second half. Putting practically all your players in your own third and alot even in your own box, diving to earn fouls and waste time, etc. Youre right that its a tactic. Its a cowardly tactic that teams do when they have an undeserved lead (or draw) and are getting dominated.

I recall when Bender got the yellow card in the 89th minute or so, Klopp looked like he was about to tear the ref apart. Truly terrifying

The game was a very clean one. Both teams can be more or less happy with the sportsmanship on display.

Ok, admittedly, it didnt happen much, but there was one time that pissed me off, i think it was Gervinho, in like the 87th minute right before Dortmund scored, that just took a complete dive.

Re: What a goal by Ivan Perisic
By that same standard, Arsenal would have won the EPL numerous times in recent years. Unfortunately having the ball a lot in offensive positions doesn't automatically mean goals. And say what you will about the finishing, but it's not as though the majority of their chances were easy chances - most of them were half chances taken through a wall of defenders.juventus101 wrote:Arsenal outpossessed Dortmund in the first half but did nothing with it other than the goal. I think Arsenal should get some recognition for being able to change their tactics to adapt to the situation, something people have been begging them to do for years.

Re: What a goal by Ivan Perisic
@zealous: Yup. Especially since I was watching in a pub, and the screen right next to the one showing Dortmund - Arsenal was showing Barca - Milan.
It was like watching football from another dimension. Dear god I forgot how much Barca dive. I know this is totally offtopic and will unleash a shitstorm of flames and I'm sorry, but by the end I was REALLY rooting for Milan. :p
And TBH I just went there wanting to see Dortmund play. And Götze was Gödze again indeed, if Dortmund just had a proper poacher... Then again, it's not like Arsenal played overly bad. I think Dortmund could've deserved a win, but it wasn't by an astounding margin, so the draw is okay.
Still, should've bought a poacher. Or at least a clinical something - those Poles can't finish for shit, I'm sorry.

No.
Well, actually yes...
shots at the end of the game were like 20+ to 4.
With just a little less luck Arsenal could have been 2-0 down after 12 min.

You hit home with that though. What Arsenal did after taking the lead... I didn't like watching it, but also I didn't think they would be able to do something like it. And in many ways they couldn't since they actually lost the lead, but still: Arsenals defense didn't look half bad today, and that's certainly a positive Wenger will take away from the match.

Pretty weird Klopp didn't poach a youngster or something and instead got Gundogaan who's been shitty. He should start Perisic and move Kagawa up as false 9, he'd get better results than the 'skis.
