I know that Dongou is better

Amazingly Lukaku has been talking about the fact that he will be competing with Torres and Drogba, and he has said he has no problem with that. Drogba will go soon, and it'll be him and Torres and don't tell me Torres can last all 70 games. He'll provide a different type of option than Torres. Lukaku is a buy for the future, like all of our signings so far.

And he isn't a waste ffs

Lacking versatility is not necessary a bad thing, but it is when you have two other target man on the squad.

A player for the future argument doesn't make sense when you just brought a 50m 27 year old striker six months ago. Torres is Drogba successor, no need for another a player for the future. and Drogba? he is most likely staying beyond next year.

And I doubt Drogba will be staying beyond this summer. Think he'll retire at OM.

Chelsea want to mold him so he'll be Drogba MK2, basically.

All i need is him, a CB and / or a RB and we have a perfect team. With him we have all the forward options. We've got no place for softies like higgy or at least that's what i like to think. And Ramos has to step it up. Benz is fine as of now.

So when Drogba leaves, do you just keep Torres for that position? No, you need depth and then we'll have to buy someone for his back-up. Why not do it now? Drogba will only stay beyond next year if Lukaku isn't signed IMO. Otherwise there's no point in keeping him because he's pretty much not what he was. Lukaku will cost less than 13m pounds as a down payment, and if he proves his hype we'll end up paying probably 18m. So there goes your fear of over-paying for him. I cannot think of a better deal then this to have a replacement for Drogba, which we'll have to do anyways. Plus I do not have to tell you of the potential this guy has.
