Selling Pastore to PSG was an extortion!

Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has claimed that the club were "victims of an extortion" when selling Javier Pastore to Paris Saint-Germain during the summer transfer window.

The supremo's complaints follow reports in Italy claiming he made a complaint to prosecutors regarding the money made by Pastore's agent Marcelo Simonian as part of the deal.

It is alleged that Simonian earned €12.5 million from the €42m PSG paid for the playmaker, leaving Zamparini furious.

"Palermo have been victims of an extortion, we were forced to accept the transfer," Zamparini told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"It was as if we had a gun pointed to our heads.

"They asked us something and had we not accepted then the deal with PSG would have failed.

"We had set the percentage that would have gone to the agent with a contract, but then they asked for something else."

Pastore signed a five-year deal with the French capital outfit and was one of a number of players to have been brought in by the burgeoning Ligue 1 club.

Zamparini wants to look like the victim since he sold Pastore to PSG for less than the eleventy billion Euros he was demanding for him.
