The Azzurri Break Records
Cesare Prandelli set a new record for Italy’s best qualification campaign, but was not satisfied with their win in the Faroe Islands.
The Azzurri are practically in Euro 2012 thanks to 19 points in seven games, a new record in European or World Cup qualifying.
They also conceded only one goal, giving Italy the best defence in all the Euro 2012 groups.
If Italy keep a clean sheet for the opening eight minutes of Tuesday’s game against Slovenia, they will set another new record.
Cesare Maldini’s Azzurri went 708 minutes without conceding in the qualifiers for the 1998 World Cup, whereas Prandelli’s side are now on 700 minutes and counting.

So far so good. I really hope Prandelli can keep up the good work.
I see a realistic chance of winning the Euro '12, but lets not talk about that yet.

They are contenders that is for sure. After Germany and Spain failing to defeat us, it's pretty much confirmed, stats speak for themselves now in the qualifying.

People can critize us for the Faroe game... though they need to realize that in September historically Italy have always been poor, also against Small teams, but in the end we also manage to win. So the Faroe Game does not prove anything, either we destroy them... as we did before 5-0 or we win cheaply... like in 08 when we won 2-1 vs them

Italy, Spain, Holland and Germany are the top 4 bets for the Euro's.
Of course a few other teams have a chance but they are definitely top 4.

As long as Cassano stays motivated Italy will look very good going into the Euro.
Also depending on a few other matters, Pirlo's health, Balotelli's motivation and form, Buffon regaining his form.
Excited for this Euro, will hopefully put world cup 2010 garbage behind us

When your qualifying group includes the Faroe Islands it really takes out the prestige out of this broken record

I'd beg to differ with the likes of Netherlands who have to face San Marino or France who have to face Malta
