WHAT happened to Kelly??????????????????????????????????????????

He has played FIVE games and probably been substitute for 3-4 of these. At a time we are fielding two abysmal players on both flanks and Flanagan playing regularly before getting injured.

With over half the season gone, if he haven't got enough fitness or form to displace Johnson or Cissoko (something Flanagan, who is much younger and less hyped, had done), it's really a cause for concern. Wisdom is playing regularly for Derby and next season he is likely to be considered main back-up.

Have any of you seen him play lately? Senior team, youth/reserve? How did he look?

He's just been behind Johnson in the pecking order, but will surely play now that Johnson is injured, don't worry, Ifty Smile

Explains his poor form.

He was one of our better players before the injury against United so couldn't see how he was on the decline. He just looked poor after "coming back" from injury.

Barrett says we were waiting for Flanno's comeback to give Johnson treatment. He has been playing through the problems.

However, this just goes to show how less BR believes in Kelly!!

Suarez: 23 goals, 8 assists
Sturridge: 16 goals, 4 assist
Gerrard: 7 goals, 9 assists

Goals: 46 (23+16+7)
Assists: 21 (8+4+9)

Liverpool's goals scored in total this season in the PL: 66. Laughing

That "trio" is reponsible for ATLEAST 70% of our goals. Other players need to step up...

So Gerrard needs to avoid being booked in the next 3 games to avoid 2 match ban. The 4th game is vs City.

Oops, we should start Lucas instead of Gerrard in one of the next games to reduce the possibility of getting that yellow card.
After all, we did brilliantly when Lucas, Hendo and Allen played together

That midfield is very similar to what we play now. We jsut trade some passing dynamism for a bit more defensive solidity. Lucas as a volante works pretty well with two runners in front of him, just not as a "partner" for Gerrard in a defensive midfield pairing.

Against Sunderland or West Ham (maybe even Tottenham, on current form), I'm perfectly okay with playing Lucas instead of Gerrard. Save Gerrard for the run-in, starting with Man City.

There's no way we're dropping Gerrard now. lol

Say what you want, but he's still our best midfielder. He's after SAS, our only "X factor". We're not going to risk resting him for a few games until Chesea/City (where, if we want the league we'll have to be beat them both to get the points back we lost in the reverse fixture) when we'll need him for the games before those two.

Lucas should come back, with that said.

If it's only a 2 game ban, I'd instruct him to get a yellow card on purpose tbh. Laughing

We don't have Chelsea/City until 4 games, no? Lucas, Allen and Henderson showed that we don't need Gerrard against Spurs.

He won't get a two game ban. It'll only be one if he does indeed pick up another yellow in the next 3-4 matches.

The only people getting 2 game suspensions are those who already got 5 yellows before the January 1st deadline, and will also break the 10 yellow limit before the next deadline (second week of April).

Stevie did not go over the limit of 5 by the first deadline so he'll only get 1 match.
